sure but Layne's lift is has Raw has Stan's...
Stan does a bit more than 755 so he's doing that barefoot and no belt, but that to is a matter of choice in raw lifting.
Layne could deadlift barefoot if he wanted and wear no belt. it's a choice you can make but both ways is raw lifting.

I find that hook grip gets easier the heavier the weight. Seems like my thumb goes numb faster, so it doesnt hurt.
As for layne's lift being more impressive, i guess its to each his own, but as a big deadlifter myself I have to say Stans is way more impressive. Pulling 765 for 2 is so much harder than 700x1, regardless of bodyweight or the drugs your on. When you get to that kind of weight, the stress it can put on your body is unreal.

I still dont believe the 210# incline DB video is real. The way he flings them around just doesnt seem possible, and anyone that has used big DB's for anything before would agree they are really awkward

Stan is so fucking SAUCED out of his mind its unreal! He's a fucking pro bodybuilder! He's doing just as much and the same shit as anyone else and he's deadlifting 755x2. Thats a shitload for us mere mortals. But if Layne being natural and weighing 220 lbs. is doing 700 compared to a guy thats 270 and doing 755 that is unreal. Fuck the gear and accessories, who cares it doesn't mean much. What Layne did is FAR more impressive than any lift Stan could put up on deadlifts. Far more.

Retwa, not sure if the video is to agree with me or disagree? Ronnie did his in a much more controlled manner. If Stan's video is legit then he is the fucking man. Not just for incline pressing 210's on incline, but for being able to control them with such reckless form. Controlling the DB at that weight is probably a bigger issue than pressing it.

laynes deadlift more impressive imo because stan is a lot heavier and hes juiced to the gills and has been for a long time, layne is natural
and i think the only thing ronnie had stan in is deadlift

Weight is weight. But just because my neighbor has an F-150 thats bigger visually more striking doesn't mean its better or more impressive than my BMW X5. Layne weighs 220 lbs. and is natural. Thats a 50 lb. bodyweight difference. Layne isn't on several grams of gear and 5+ IU's of growth and slin either like Stan is. Stan only lifts 100 lbs. more and he's geared out of his fucking mind.

you really dont know what stan takes or what he could do naturally, and layne could take AAS right now and it wouldnt be guaranteed by any means that he would reach an 800lb deadlift. it is a pretty elite lift for any raw 275lber tested or untested.
either way, both are impressive and one shouldnt discredit the other. i dont know why layne's deadlift even got brought up in this thread.

You have a point, but to say "only 100 lbs." is a bit of an understatement.
I believe only about 100 people have pulled 800lbs in competition and only 13 have pulled 900 and only one man has pulled over 1000lbs.
So, is the difference between 800 and 900 or 900 and 1000 still "only 100lbs" in the way you put it?
You have to take into account a human's strength curve, no matter how heavy someone is, there is a limit humans approach when it comes to maximal strength.
