Training on an empty stomach
Been thinking about this lately. Training on an empty stomach a couple days a week as a form of cardio/fatburn. what i mean is first thing in the morning take some creatine, BCAA's and drink some water and hit the gym on an empty stomach. Anyone do this with any fat loss results?

I do that every day, with great results.
Take a fat burner first thing when you wake up (a little bit of water) and 10 min before hiting the gym use a pre workout loaded with NO, BCAAs and maybe some creatine or make your custom formula of that.S.M.A.R.T. I don't think it really matters.....had results on both empty and later in the day.... your body doesn't really care...... just get after it.....

I train fasted and have been for about 5 months, no lag in strength and feel great. I recently started taking Humapro pre-workout, BCAA's intra-workout, and Humapro Post.
I think in a fat loss phase it is great to train without carbs in the system as you will utilize more bodyfat than if you had filled up with carbs pre-workout.

Makes sense to train WITH food. At least one meal in theory is optimal. I can't imagine waking up and having a good workout, however I ha haven't tried it so who knows?

it makes NO SENSE at all to train without food..
you need glycogen to fuel your muscles for training.. training when your at your MOST catabolic is not wise.. and is not only going to help you burn fat, but also muscle!

training first thing in the AM is great, but still get some food, ima big fan on 50g whey iso with 1/2 cup oats and 1 cup cantaloupe, its all gonna be absorbed quickly bc of fasting while sleeping, but always good to get something asap when you wake up to get your body anabolic again. my .02

I can barely get out of bed w/o something in my stomach. I don't like the low blood sugar feeling I get after trainign balls to the wall even w/ eating, so I don't think I'd be worth much w/ no food in the AM. (Even AM cardio w/ 1/2 a grapefruit is pretty brutal...)

It's good if you're trying to cut up on a carb based diet because you'll be using much more fat as fuel.
Leg days also suck on a full stomach...

I do it all the time. I'm not real hungry when I wake up in the a.m. my appetite increases as the day goes on. I take a couple of Redlines, load up on arginine, R-Ala and Vanadyl and off I go!!!

I can't imagine your energy level would be good enough to get an intense workout in...which would seemingly defeat the purpose. It's a catabolic nightmare, IMO, unless you're juicing and taking stimulants before the workout!

bra I wake up to hunger pains even in the offseason!!
but to answer the thread I would say not good. I guess if you dont care about muscle mass and growing as much as possible then go for it. If you're using the theory for cardio while fasted for training then that is waaay outside the box. (not in a good way) Training is meant to cause a reason for the body to grow. cardio is to burn fat. Training on an empty stomach is like driving on a road trip with barely enough gas to make it down the block. Why would you limit your ability to train as hard as possible by taking away the energy source. Now i can somewhat understand people who cant stomach food but that just means you need more time between the food and training.
I have trained on an empty stomach multiple times and each time half way through the workout I felt like I was gonna pass out.
