What's really infuriating is that our brilliant government takes our tax dollars to heavily subside corn (and thus high fructose corn syrup) which makes it cheaper to make corn-fed cattle and put it into an endless supply of shitty fast foods and most everything else. The stuff shows up in seemingly everything under the sun.
Now some of these same geniuses in the government want to add a "junk food" tax on fast food, thus taking more of our money to pay extra for food which THEY made cheap in the first place.
How about we don't take people's money in the first place to make cheap crap food even cheaper?

^I agree. The 'farm bill' is totally fucked. They need to stop farm subsidies.

Corn, one of the few things America still manufactures! Should be a good watch.

is the sugar in corn (actual corn, not corn syrup) only fructose or is it both fructose and glucose?

I think the starch in corn is mainly glucose but, after processing, the syrup derived from the glucose has more fructose due to some enzymes used. From what I've read, glucose is much better tolerated than fructose, which the liver cannot handle in large quantities without spilling over into the blood supply.

just finished watching. i was hesitant at first because i thought it was going to be another "corn is the devil" message but it wasn't. the two guys just followed how the corn was grown and where it eventually ended up. good show
