    Cool

    Gerrit Cole
has arrived. Some call him the best pitcher in MLB. I don't know about that, but he's good. & thank goodness he was rescued from the Bucs, a team that quibbled about giving him a $10K bonus (that he qualified for) on top of a low salary they refused to renegotiate. You get what you pay for, & fortunately he is no longer kidnapped by K-Mart; he's on a team that pays its athletes well, trains them well, coaches them well, & bases strategy on reliable analytics. Cole was an artist in the 5th game, painting the corners like a baseball Da Vinci. It was a joy to watch (for everyone but Nats fans).

A legendary showdown of top pitchers for game 6 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, w/ a little drama besides (Verlander hasn't won yet in the World Series, going 0-5).

Game 6 of the World Series, 29 October 2019, at Minute Maid Park in Houston:

    Nationals 7, Astros 2

    (series tied 3-3)

No home team has won a game in their ball park in this series.

This is crazy. Glad there is going to be a game 7. JV just can't close the deal in world series games. On paper, Scherzer vs Greinke favors the Nationals but damn, I can't help thinking the home team has to win one sooner or later. I'm rooting for Washington. I like Houston, but I'm just a little Houston'd out.

I like the 'Stros, & have since the Killer B era. Bagwell is one of my fave players of all time. However, the Nats have never won the World Series, & their earlier incarnation, the Expos, were looking good for the Series in 1994 when a players' strike ended the season prematurely. I'm not saying they're owed, but it would mean a lot to their fans to have a team go all the way, the first time since 1924. Let the best team win.

Game 7 in World Series, at Minute Maid Park in Houston, 30 October 2019

    Nationals 6, Astros 2

    (Nats win the series 4-3)

History was made tonight. The team few predicted would be in the World Series, much less win it, went all the way.

Great series. We'll never see another like it. Where the visiting team wins every game. Going to be a very long winter for AJ Hinch. I was ok with pulling Greinke after the home run but he should have went with Cole. I don't get why he was up and throwing.
