Pro Bodybuilders and top Amateurs with Full-Time Jobs/Careers
Just wanted to start a thread centered around pro bodybuilders and top amateurs who hold full-time jobs on top of their bodybuilding careers.
These indivduals inspire me (because i have a full-time career and a part-time job on top of my bodybuilding lifestyle). So I'd like to hear about guys and girls too who have full-time jobs --specifically top level amateurs and pros.
Lets hear some tips on balancing careers and bodybuilding and also share some great examples of top athletes who do both.
Here are some examples:
1. Cedric McMillan --IFBB pro--full time Army
2. David Henry --- IFBB pro--- full time Military
3. Johnny Jackson--- IFBB pro -- full time Military
4. Craig Richardson --IFBB pro--- full time correctional officer
5. Ronnie Coleman --8x Mr. O-- was a full time police officer for awhile during his career.
6. Steve Kuclo-- top level amateur-- full-time firefighter

On the Amatuer front you need to look no further than all the class top ten finalists and then some at the NPC Masters Nationals. Over 40, 50, 60 and 70. Men and women. Not only do 90% work full time they have familiy resposibilities. Kids, and in my case grandkids, who need nurturing, fed/clothed/educated. You don't stop taking/attending them to little league, soccer, dance classes and doctor appointments. Little Kyle needs braces and you need airfare to Pittsburgh.
And there is no prise money. Just a $15 trophy and a title you may not bank. Pro cards at 50, 60 do what? Sponsorships are in the most part limited to free suppliments.
Talk about love and dedication to Bodybuilding....go no further.

As hard as it might be to prepare at the pro level and national amatuer level with a full time career, it would be even harder with a family. How many pros or top level amatuers have kids and a career. Not many come to mind and that speaks to how selfish this "sport" is.

Erik Fankhouser is a physical therapist. And just about any woman competing in the IFBB works as well. Branch Warren owns and runs a trucking company. A lot of them do.

Didn't Iris Kyle mention she works in a factory or something while she was on HMR? Something about them complaining about her eating fish all the time and the smell?
