There have been plenty of times at shows that I would have given the win to someone else than the person who got it. But I'm not at the judges' table. & I am not a trained judge. That isn't to say that judges don't make mistakes. Baseball fans see them every night from the umpires. But it is what it is. Jay won, & he's the winner no matter what the crowd thought, or the most mortems have it.

I would of had Phil 4th, behind Branch and Dexter... They have better shoulder to waist to quad width ratios from the front and back, and have harder looking muscle, why would Phil place ahead of them?

I have to start of by saying that the top 4 looked fantastic and I have to give credit to the judges for what I thought was a "fair enough" decision on most of the placings.
From where we were sitting (and it seems most other people) in the individual posing, Phil looked incredible! Seeing him move and hit his shots was jaw dropping, just like cartoon character muscle as a lot have said. To me after seeing all the individual routines Phil was the clear winner.
Once the guys stood next to each other, Jay's superior size came into effect vs Phil, especially in the lower body. My view then went from "Phil is the clear winner" to "Jay has done enough for the judges to give him the win"
I could see why the judges gave Jay the win, but if I had been on the judging panel that night then I would have given it to Phil, just because I thought his whole package was better and more complete.
I walked away from the arena happy enough with the placings, and knowing that if Phil turns up looking like that year after year then he has the ability to really dominate the sport for the next decade or so.

JAY won because he came back BETTER at night.................... had he come in softer and PHIL came in fuller and just as tight, there may have been a different outcome. But JAY showed as MR OLYMPIA that he deserved the title and that he wanted it more than anyone. That's the sign of a true champion.

I hear that Jay Cutler is a pretty stong guy and is capable of lifting quite a lot of weight. Is this true?

I'm guessing that everyone you talked to didn't include any of the judges??
And I would think that you of all people would recognize that this is a subjective sport (or pageant if Swede is reading this). It will NEVER be 100% agreed upon who has the better physique, and you saying that it was clear shows severe naivete IMO.

I didn't say it was unanimous. But from her post, Debbie made it seem as though Phiil was the unanimous winner. I was merely pointing out that her feelings towards Phil winning were obviously not this clear cut b/c she certainly didn't ask the judges when getting her unofficial tally...

Nah, im not defending anyone actually. Ali can do that.
Her post made it seem like (all the people she talked to) had Phil as the winner. You called her naive and sarcastically made comment on how she didnt talk to the judges. Meanwhile, one of the judges DID see Phil as the winner after pre judging. And her being a IFBB pro, she very well could have talked to one of the them. YOUR the naive one..... Ok, now im defending her.
