The strength of the competition in be bantamweight class as well as some of the lighter weight classes tend to vary year to year..I don't think the class should be eliminated I can recall from the mid 1990's up until early 2000's there were some particularly particularly great athletes competing in the class...Ricky Parks, Mavin Ward, Mercury Morris, Eric Yhamashita..Cifton Torres.. etc..
A good friend of mine.. Gary Passmore won the bantamweight class title 10 years ago...he barely made weight at weighins a day prior to prejudging..and then manipulated his diet etc.. and always looked impressive.
His offseason weight was close to 190 or so..perhaps a bit higher..keep in mind he is 5'1 or 2..

yes ur right about..the bantams..shouldnt be eliminated! but,why pick or allow a tall dude get the first place if he has a structure of a welter or more weight? that is the judges fault! he is not 5'1 or 5'2..they picked guys at 5'3 or more..????
