    1000mg 3 times a day is an average dose..

    Best results for me was 12 grams. 2 grams with every meal. I just read a article on elitefts that said increase your dose until you got a soft stool drop it by 2 grams and maintain that dose.

    my normal dosage is around the 10-12 mark.

    I can not speak for the average Joe, but I always recommend to other bb's to take between 8-12 grams a day in divided doses. My feeling is we already get enough omega-6's, so I add extra omega 3's to my diet in a supplement form.

    I take between 3-4g a day, Im not that heavy so I figure that is enough. It certainly has a lot of science behind it, some hardcore guys say it will inhibit growth by anti-inflamatory properties. I think thats overthinking things, but from what I've found mega dosing usually delivers a point of diminishing returns - AND I would rather eat almonds than down a capsule - so mine stays on the low dose side.

    Frosty used to recommend 1 gram for ever pound of body weight. I got good results in fat loss when I used this standard.

    interesting, I didn't know people were taking that much. I knew you couldn't really overdose, but didn't realize people were taking 12 pills of this a day.

    In the early 2000 there was a lot of information out there about mega dosing of Omega 3's reducing inflammation to such a point that it would inhibit muscle growth. This idea has lost it's backing over time. I have taken upwards of 40 a day on a ketogenic diet and gained muscle.

    What if someone, like myself, use a higher dosed Omega 3? Essentially it has double the omega 3(EPA & DHA) in a 1g pill. Would you still need as many pills? When I am good about taking my pills I usually do 4 a day, which would have the equivalent of 8 normal omega 3 pills.
