and if you think about what they have been rewarding this year at the National level shows is the softer look. I mean seriously....how many National level shows have you (me included) sat there and thought....what the fuck where they thinking when they gave her the overall?...Looks like the knew exactly what they were doing, knew exactly what point they were taken it.
Also if you look at the date of that interview with the judges, or at least when it was posted....the date is 2006!

DWINDLING NUMBERS YOU SAY....
as for numbers of competitors in female bodybuilding
do you know how many pro cards Canada gives out a year there ???
usually 1 a year for the whole friggin country
max 2
and do you know how many pro women in Canada in the last 10 or so years that
Canada has given a pro card to that never even fuckin competed at all in the pro ??
won their pro card thank you very much thatz all i wanted and i'm done now
or hasn't competed yet
or may have competed once maybe correct me if i'm wrong... have you seen these Canadian Pros on the stage?

I can tell this is gonna suck for the 1st few years. The judging is going to be inconsistent and the competitiors are gonna be guessing as to what the judges expect.

i was at Golds Gym in Burnaby
tell these 2 guys that were on the plane goin to Canadian Nationals along with me this august
1 guy competing
the other guy his friend
they were astonished by the news
they're like we like big girls with striated glutes etc....
i said well maybe i'll just compete in mens bb... how much do you weigh maybe i'll be in your class
they were like

Yip, it's impossible to digress a sport. It's like telling the NBA guys to stop running so fast and jumping so high. I don't understand how the IFBB can reward a certain physique for 10 years and then all of a sudden say, "We changed our mind, we don't like those physiques anymore." They created and enabled the sport to become what it is by rewarding these physiques. Dumb to try and change IMO.
