James Harrison
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Steelers linebacker James Harrison states his objective matter-of-factly: He's out to hurt any opposing player who roams into his vicinity.
If he sees players down on the turf - as he did Sunday when he sidelined Browns wide receivers Joshua Cribbs and Mohamed Massaquoi with punishing hits only minutes apart during the second quarter - he feels as if he's done his job.
Harrison said he doesn't want to put any player out of a game or jeopardize his career. The former AP Defensive Player of the Year also realizes it can be difficult to draw a line between merely hurting a player and badly injuring him as plays take place at full speed and hits are delivered with little time to consider the consequences

As long as he takes out players within the rules, he's fine. That's all the league and the teams can ask for. Football is still a full contact, collision sport.

I think the team he plays for has a big reason to deal with why he hasn't been punished for the hits. And I'm for big hits just not with malicious intent.

Every year the helmets are gradually remodelled. Mike Sellers our Fullback has said that he tries a new helmet syle every year. They are subtle enough that a casual fan may not recognize it. If you have afew recorded games on your archives, look at the slight differences in the helmets from year to year."Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" -Dr. David Banner

Are those accurate? I mean are concussions in Rugby recorded and reported or are most under reported? Last year at a NFL forum, a Rugby player from another country, I forget which one it was ?Could be UK or Australia said that the NFL has much better concussion and sports medicine awareness for its players than their league does for their sport. He states that many have serious injuries or death later on in life. I'm kind of doing this from memory and I will try to find that post and post it here."Don't make me angry. But then elbows, forearms and accidental knees to the head would be the main weapons with teath and noses being the main victims.
How about a rubber hemlet like those bouncy balls, so when they hit each other they'll start bouncing of all over the place. That could be entertaining.

You know,I know you`re kidding but I did read once that back in the days of the leather helmet they actually had fewer head injuries and it was because the guys didn`t use their helmet for a weapon.Think about it if you had a soft helmet on you`re probably not going to go ramming it into another guy like a missile. You would probably develop a style of tackling with your shoulder which may create a whole new set of problems.
