at least when you looked at bodybuilding, you knew what class they belonged to. too many similar looks to add another inbetween class.
I simply dont get it.

Nicole Wilkins-Lee.
You think I'm kidding?

If I had to take a guess right now, I would go with Juliana Malacarne. From what I've heard thus far about the new division, she seems like the best fit. Her or Larissa Reis.

We seriously need more specific guidelines... I am like a broken record but height/weight 'guidelines' would help women shape their bodies much easier than just a vague description....

I don't know about you, but Malacarne and Reis are not what I'd call a "stretch" from the current FBBs.
I don't understand the need to apparently pull the rug out from under Iris Kyle and her run at Lenda's record.
It just seems disrespectful of the athletes who have put in the years of work.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

lol , im starting to yawn on this..im with you, its almost like the figure girls
who were told they to hard, muscle bellies a bit to full would move in the Physique category, meanwhile female bbers who have a bber look but been pushed back do to lack of size could move to Physique category., and the ones who are big bbers, stay put unless you are willing to take it down ten pounds and give it a shot..
anyways i keep watching...

Agreed. Makes no sense to this fan either. I'm certain I'm not alone on that count.
That said, Cicherillo is simply the messenger. There's a YouTube out there of some top dogs in the IFBB discussing the so-called 20% rule.
I'll see if I can find it. This idea has been being mulled over or kicked around for a long time is my bet.

so the previous rule was 10% I believe? now 20% more.
goodluck to the vast majority of IFBB FBB's out there. your org has turned their backs on you.
I'd take it personally.

Kat Ramirez would also be a perfect fit for WPD.
Zoa, the height/weight classes are coming. They have to give it a chance to grow just like all the other startup divisions. I guarantee you there will be at least 50 girls at any given show, maybe even the first show. The numbers will soon justify adding classes. The fact that we can come up with as many names as we have as potential winners tells you that this is a positive thing all the way around.
Sheila, you are absolutely right. All the Figure girls who were told to scale down will now be able crossover and come in full bloom. See Ava Cowan for more details. The female bbers who are unable to make the transition will be left out after 2011.
In 2012, if a promoter choses to include female bbing he/she will have that option. But the Ms. Olympia title will end next year. Iris, assuming she is gonna win, will go down as tying Corey Everson with six consecutive wins and seven total.
No word on what's happening with the Ms. International. But sources tell me Mr. Lorimer was ready to include WPD in 2011 but it was decided that really wouldn't be fair to the bbers. That show in particular will draw big because it has already gone global.
CJ, I feel ya on the sympathetic plea. But this is not about one person's mission to break a record. See Ronnie Coleman for more details.

I personally feel that the evolution of the categories has come much like the building of Tokyo. There wasn't a plan, it just grew out of itself and evolved year by year in more of a reactionary manner, then they have tried to rein it in as it go out of control. (You should see the wiring above the roads in Japan, makes you scared to drive under there, chicken farms beside car lots, crazy shit, there is really little to no 'zoning' guidelines at all) LOL.
So I'm not saying there was any choice in the matter, it's typical that things change but perhaps suggesting in this day and age with the internet and a global community it would be wise to use the technology to gather a consensus from the women involved. We don't live in separate countries anymore, we can all contribute in a way we never could before.
I, like many figure and bb women would like to see a firm description of the judging BEFOREHAND, so we can shape our bodies the way we want if we do want to compete...not AFTER THE FACT. And the only way I see that happening is like in Europe with height/weight classes set in place BEFOREHAND. And this is where they should be getting some feedback. So far, the physique division does not appear to be able to include some of the larger women who do not naturally fit into that model. Just sayin' based on what I'm reading...bodybuilding has always been more about women who want to be athletes - NOT SEX SYMBOLS (for some of us). We definitely do it for the love of the lifestyle and sport year round. Now for the smaller LW/MW girls, it might be perfect and I'd be happy to have them have a division and a place to go. But why not just separate pro FBB into LW and HW then...make figure a little more conditioned/athletic and let bikini be a little more like the figure girls are looking now, but a little less muscle? Still dividing the prize money, still giving everyone a place to go...
So yes I think a new division could work just fine, I would support it whole-heartedly. But I also think we need to leave room for the many, many women who LOVE BUILDING MUSCLE. Maybe just enforce the judging so that at the pro level someone can win Ms.O who has beautiful shape, fully developed muscles, all the right balance and conditioning..but maybe just less dense/thick, but with all the proportions of a perfectly developed physique .... is that even possible though (to change the judging)?
Just some thoughts...

GREAT POST! Agreed! I said we're gonna hear hard like a BB but not as hard... Muscular... but not too big... We need better guidelines. Pretty soon girls are just gonna show up to shows and say where should I go? Is this a harder class or a softer class? Where will I place better.
