Tuesday...chest & shoulders
I've been doing multiple sets at the same weight for weeks. Thought it was time to stir up the pot.
Nick Tumminello's Upper Body warmup plus some stuff prescribed by the chiro
Over & backs:
2 warms
3 x 50 x 10
Incline bb:
45 x 20
65 x 15
85 x 12
95 x 10
105 x 8
85 x 20 rest paused, I believe this is my heaviest for a set like this
Incline DB flyes:
3 x 35s x 12
Flat DB press:
40s x 15
45s x 12
50s x 10
55s x 7 Grrrr...I had 2x8 plus 1x10 at this weight last week
55s x 8
started eyeing the 60s but didn't see a trustworthy spot and decided not to push my luck. So much for sticking with bodyweight for this exercise, eh? LOL.
If I can get a reliable spot and I'm feeling up for it I'll go for flat presses with the 60s next week. Stay tuned, think strong thoughts.
Cable flyes:
15 x 10
10 x 15
5 x 20
Front DB raise:
4 x 20s x 10
Leaning DB lateral raise ss incline side-lying DB lateral raise:
20 x 12 ss 5 x 8
20 x 12 ss 5 x 9
20 x 12 ss 5 x 10
20 x 20 ss 5 x 15
Reverse DB flyes kneeling on incline bench:
20s x 8 overhand ss 20s x 8 neutral...4 sets, questioning my sanity each set
Six ways:
3 x 5s x 8 - I usually get 5s x 12 or 8s x 8 but I was toast by this time!
No cardio.Last edited by Sunnyday; 01-20-2015 at 03:24 PM.

Snow expected to begin around 11 am and continue through dinner. Love me snow, even if it is only 2-4". Just dropped off my oldest at her bus depot. The kids are starting school on time. But it looks like they will be dismissing early. I am headding straight fir the gym as soon as my other two are on the bus. I should be able to get my training in without rushing and still have time for a shower. Woo hoo.

Would really like for it to snow here, but it will be in the mid 60's which this southern boy really likes.

I'd prefer it never got much above 70, period. But I am living in the wrong part of the country for that.
When I lived in VT, as soon as it got above freezing there would be tons of people walking around in shorts. On a 60-degree day you'd think you were at the beach in a heat wave the way some people dressed!2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

I love you girl - but - SNOW???????!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, Ok, MAYBE a ski trip once a yr would be fun ---- but growing up and living in OHIO - I HATE FREAKIN WINTER and SNOW!!!
Not a "cold weather" girl to begin with and the gloom of winter hits me pretty hard with my Seasonal issues sometimes.... add snow and ice.... I am NOT a happy camper! haha.... Give me Warm Breezes, great temperatures, and Sunshine - HAPPY PFE! lol
NICE job on those presses!!!~Lorrie ~ Mediocrity is NOT an option! ~

You know I really love snow by itself. But I DO NOT love the mess and trouble that comes with it. A 2 hour commute could become 3-5 (Carmageddon), worrying about contractors doing the parking lot at work for the public. Shovelling snow in different properties and parents places, etc, etc."Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" -Dr. David Banner

Thanks! You know, when one doesn't own implants you gotta grow 'em! And I refuse to do it by putting on FAT like the rest of my family! Not sure which part sticks out worse on my female relatives: their boobs or their bellies. Eeew.
I get that about the gloomy winter thing. I'm not a fan of the ice either. To me winter is so much more bearable with something fluffy and white on the ground covering all the dead grass. Plus there's something really relaxing to me about watching snow fall. Puts me in a good mood in the middle of all the cold gloom.
I think snow in this area would be much more enjoyable if people just rolled with it. Somethng about the mid-Atlantic region, they see three snowflakes or even three raindrops and suddenly it's CARMAGEDDON! Oh, and let's not forget the supermarket madness every time the wind changes direction! I grew up in NJ, same there. Maybe it's just that people who live in this region are too uptight in general. Eventually I will move to a more laid-back state.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Wednesday...abs and "rehab"
Snow didn't start here until 1:00 so schools remained on schedule. I got my morning training in without having to rush - YAY!
Bits and pieces of Nick Tumminello's warmup plus a truckload of chiro-prescribed exercises and stretches. At least it seems like a truckload to someone who prefers to do her own thing and not be told what to do. LOL.
Side planks:
3 x 60s hold each side, no stopping
Front planks:
3 x 60s hold
Dragon flag progression:
3 sets of 6 half-reps from the top
^I hate having to skip these and having to start over again! Ugh.
Standing ab wheel progression:
3 x 6 using the wall as a stop just short of a full rep, to keep from doing a face plant
Kneeling ab wheel:
3 x 8
Weighted ball crunch:
3 x 20 on stability ball w 12# medicine ball, backbend tap floor behind crunch up
Hanging knee raise:
3 x 20
last set my hip flexors went into spasm at rep 13, had to rest pause to 20. Yuk.
Chins:
1 x 8 before my elbows couldn't stand it any more. Tendonitis sux.
