I use liquid chalk at gyms like that. I use this brand but I got it for 99 cents on sale at Lowes Hardware, NOT for this price. $9.99? What a rip-off….

I've seen it, but due to the price I didn't buy it.
The more I think about it, I'm thankful the gym manager was cool with me just promising to clean up after myself and that it'd be for just a couple more weeks. At least she didn't tell me I couldn't use it. That woulda sucked.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

That's my goal - an EASY opener.
Unlike an experienced PL though, I have no intention going for a PR at this meet. I'll be so nervous I might bomb that easy opener! So I'm not attempting anything on the platform that I haven't nailed under ideal conditions in my own gym. I've consistently nailed 125 without a struggle so hopefully trying 121.3 on my 3rd attempt to beat the record will be nice and safe.
Here's a cool thought: take a break after this meet and then my next goal is to actually try and max out on bench. I'm guessing it'll be around 130-135. Should be fun!Last edited by Sunnyday; 09-05-2015 at 06:57 PM.

This just in!
I received an email from the meet director (love this guy already!) announcing a pre-meet seminar, especially for first time lifters! Evidently there are a ton of us at this meet. Baby muscle and GD are about the only ones who will appreciate the caliber of couple hosting the seminar; MATT GARY AND SIOUX-Z HARTWIG-GARY!!! EEEEK!!
Naturally I've already signed up (just $10!! - why can't bodybuilding seminars with world champions be this cheap?!!!!) and I told my husband he's got the kids next Saturday.Last edited by Sunnyday; 09-05-2015 at 07:28 PM.

The last commercial gym I belonged to had everthing from an 85 year old woman who cautiously worked out on machines to 2 NFL players and everything in between. You could chalk up and get as loud as you wanted or you could stay to yourself and train. When they closed their doors I didn't even try to find another gym I just bought equipment for my home gym.If you found one you like yeah you are lucky because I have heard the same horror stories.
