Saturday arm scorcher!
The storm that was supposed to bring us up to 8" of snow came down as rain and didn't even bring us an inch. At least I could get to the gym and train arms. I was completely unmotivated when I got there but there were several of my favorite gym rats there today and we all had a blast, in spite of the gym being packed with college kids and resolutioners.
Bits and pieces of Nick Tumminello's upper body warmup
Pinwheel curls:
2 warms
2 x 25s x 8
2 x 20s x 12
V-bar pressdown:
2 warms
20 x 12
25 x 12
30 x 12
35 x 12
Preacher curls:
2 x 35 x 10
2 x 45 x 10
(all the tricep stuff I wanted in use, couldn't improvise, continued with biceps)
Spider curls:
2 x 35 x 10
2 x 45 x 10
Close grip bb:
bar x 10
65 x 10
95 x 10 this felt easier than usual, decided to go up
105 x 10 felt surprisingly solid, called a friend over to spot me and went for it...
115 x 8 PR! This is just over bodyweight! Woot!
^That was super sweet because I've been stuck at 95 for sooo long and triceps are finally stepping up their game!
Incline DB curls:
15s x 8
17.5s x 8
20s x 8
17.5s x 8
Seated DB overhead ext:
30 x 10
40 x 10
2 x 50 x 10 bunch of clueless people stood in front of th mirror & wouldn't get out of my way so I didn't want to risk messing up with the 60. My tri's were fried after the close grip PR anyway.
No cardio. Thinking this will change in another week or two.

Bubba cup was too much for the arms this morning. Had to break my coffee into 2 doses.

I wish! I think my best with a bb curl is 50 lbs.
115 lb close grip bb press is my fave tricep exercise. Close second to that is seated DB overhead ext - as you can see by the numbers. Skulls aren't far behind. My MMC is pretty good overall but with my tris it is awesome.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Thanks! I had a few onlookers yesterday who were in disbelief that I was close gripping 5 lbs OVER my BW for reps. Been working on that for 4 years and finally got it. Whole gym heard about it, too. LOL.
(now if I could just get the deadlift PR of 2xBW for reps that I've been chasing...)2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Back-to-back snow storms in the forecast - one for tonight and another Monday night. Could get as much as 10". That'd be average for what I've experienced living in VT but here in MD you'd think Chicken Little got on the local news and told everyone that the sky is falling, LOL! Schools in Baltimore are already closing but so far nothing for my kids' schools. My oldest came home early tonight from her dad's so if there is a snow day I can leave the little ones home instead of bringing them with me to the gym. Now what will REALLY upset me is if my development doesn't get plowed and I can't get to the gym in the morning. Trying to do leg day at home with ZERO equipment would be ridiculously challenging, even for me!
