Yeah, that's what I'm told. I know it would be better for my husband. Not sure I would like it but it's all about his health.

We were supposed to get 1-4" of snow..we barely had a dusting I enjoy driving in the snow, just not being able to wash the truck until the streets are finally dry enough.

I get that with the truck. I wash my car every chance I get. Between the clean car syndrome and loving to tinker with cars I've been told I'm far from the typical girl. As if you peeps hadn't figured that out already. Lol.

Last night's snow and ths morning's fog set us up for a 2-hour delayed opening for my kids' schools. Between the delay and my chiro appointment I barely had enough time to get to the gym. So I had to decide between rush job on warmup or rush job on training and skip the warmup. Opted for skipping the warmup and try to get a leg pump to help my mood. I am in a slump today. Feeling squishy and want to start a cut. And in a mood because at the moment I'm too broke physically to do cardio. Ugh.
Calves on horizontal leg press:
worked my way up the stack from 30 in sets of 10 up to 190 x 10
Seated leg curl:
2 warms
6 x 40 x 15
Adductors:
4 x 30 x 15
Freemotion squat:
started at 40 x 8, worked my way up in sets of 8 to 180 x 8 which finally felt like a hard set
Leg extension:
1 warm
6 x 50 x 15
No cardio.
Chiro visit was so-so. He did a lot of ART and Graston on me plus a hip distraction technique that feels fabulous (for someone in a honking amount of discomfort that is). Now I feel beat up. Tonight I'm volunteering at my oldest's swim meet and my husband gets to deal with the little ones. Looking forward to the weekend.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

One day at a time Sunny!! You know I think you kick ass. We all go through funks at times, but try and stay positive.
Honestly most people don't keep pushing like you do. It is a testement to your drive and determination that you keep going despite the setbacks. You are in a small group that just keep going and going. Be damn proud of yourself!!DON'T BE AVERAGE!!!

Thanks, GD.
Just got back from my kiddo's swim meet. Got my mind off my own issues. I was a timer and the kids swimming in my lane were CRUSHING their seed times! I was calling my lane the PR lane and giving hand signals to the other kids' parents to let them know how well their kids were beating their times. They loved it that they got to find out in real time instead of having to wait for results to get posted (takes forever and sometimes you don't know until next day when they post them online).
So...My baby beat her beat her best 100 free time by 4 seconds and it was so cool that it happened in the lane I was timing! She told me several times to stop yelling so loud at her friends because I was embarrassing her. I told her nope not stopping and showed her the clipboard with all the PRs. I said, "go ahead and ask me to stop again." She said keep it up. LOL.Last edited by Sunnyday; 01-22-2015 at 08:58 PM.

Thanks, Curt.
Starting to come out of my slump. Taking some NSAIDs before the meet helped too. I may take some around the clock for the next few days. I know they undermine my gains but if it means getting back to baseline so I'm motivated to train like an animal then I think it's worth it.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Friday...back
I had to change back/arm training around due to the 4-8" of snow in tonight's forecast. I prefer to train arms on Friday and back on Saturday with the cheat meal on Saturday night, after hitting a large muscle group. But there's no way I can train back at home on Saturday if the roads are unsafe. Arms are a challenge at home but I can do a little. With any luck the snow will turn to rain and I can still make it to the gym tomorrow morning.
My hip flexors are still weak and funky after visiting the chiro yesterday. Even supported on a bench I felt unstable in the left hip when rowing heavy weights with my right arm. Same happened with bent over rows even when I tried split stance and alternating the lead foot. Decided to skip deads for this week, cut back on volume with rows and added more pullups/pulldowns.
Bits and pieces of Nick Tumminello's upper/lower body warmup along with some chiro-prescribed mobility work.
Straight arm pulldowns:
20 x 12
25 x 12
30 x 12
35 x 12
1-arm DB rows, supported on bench:
2 warms
60 x 8
65 x 8
70 x 8 hard on the hip getting into position, didn't want to push it with 75
Neutral grip pullups:
2 x BW x 8
Reverse grip bb rows, split stance:
1 warm
95 x 8
105 x 8
115 x 8
Reverse grip pulldowns:
1 warm
2 x 100 x 8
Meadows rows, supported on bench:
1 warm
50 x 8
55 x 8
60 x 8
Wide grip pullups:
2 x BW x 8
No cardio.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Sunnyday's Training Journal
I love straight arm pulldowns! I obtain such a great MMC from those. Do some pull-ups S/S with them for an extra burn
Ha! I try to focus my training around a decent training day too. Lately it's been my touch up day.
Friday = arm day. Curls for the girls before going out clubbing! ...wait, wrong thread.
..and I haven't been to a club since 2011'ish? Lol. This white boy cannot, and does not dance.Last edited by Hoss06; 01-23-2015 at 11:35 PM.

I love supersetting pullups with any other back movement! It worked well when I could do BW sets of 12 but I'm barely getting sets of 8 now. At least they're not sets of 6 anymore.
Once my pullup reps get back toward the 12 range you'll see me supersetting them with rows.
Club?!? What IS that? LOL!
I haven't been to a club since I was in grad school in the early 90s!Last edited by Sunnyday; 01-24-2015 at 03:56 PM.
