Thanks, GD. I am just really hoping that some freak thing doesn't keep me out of the gym for back day tomorrow! It has been waaaay too long since I trained 6 days. That seems to be the magic number to keep me pain free. Almost there.

Wink How do YOU spell relief?

My oldest had a "routine" orthodontist visit immediately after school today. Here's how my afternoon went:

    1. Pick up Kid #1 from bus stop, bring directly to orthodontist 10 min away
    2. Leave Kid #1 at orthodontist to pick up Thing1 and Thing2 just as they are getting off bus
    3. Bring Thing1 and Thing2 to orthodontist (while trying to avoid them seeing the ice cream man who was working his way through our neighborhoood - grrrr), with autistic Thing1 squawking the whole way due to being out of usual Friday routine
    4. Arrive at orthodontist to find out I missed the entire appointment, and that Kid #1 and the orthodontist have a surprise for me: KIDDO IS FINALLY GETTING HER BRACES OFF!!!

summary of her treatment (more reason to not have kids LOL)
started in THIRD GRADE, she's now in NINTH!
2 different palate expanders, spaced over time
    2 separate oral surgeries
    1 tooth pulled
braces for the last 3.5 years
    will have top/bottom retainers 24/7 starting May 1-June 19
price tag for the entire treatment over $15000 (not a typo), of which the insurance stopped paying at $3000 - nice
    YIPPEEE IT IS FINALLY OVER!
official date they are coming off is May 1. Six weeks of around the clock retainers then only overnight.

    5. And now I get to bring everyone to swim team practice! Yeah!

But the braces saga is almost over and that is huge.

Thanks for stopping in, Sandpiggy! I pray without ceasing and for reasons I can't explain my prayers get answered. I can't even begin to describe the tension in my neck and traps from trying to maintain composure through every bit of the day though. My chiro told me go get a massage once a month. I laughed at him. As if I have the TIME! I barely have the time to get to my chiro appointment once a week! LOL!!

It sure does. However, the family calendar between now and the last day of school (June 19) does NOT sound good. It's our busiest time of the year, right behind the Thanksgiving to New Year's Day stretch.

Saturday was an unexpected off day. My oldest woke up with a face full of hives, middle one woke up slinging snot everywhere...had to play nurse.

Sunday went from busy to nuts, the highlight being our personal info being compromised. The details don't matter, what's done is done. I could think of better ways to spend my Sunday evening. My husband and I slept less than 3 hours each.

Today I had planned training legs in the morning. Still dealing with the avalanche of issues from Sunday. My husband took today off to try to secure/restore what we can. I've had worse strings of days but the last 18 hours are definitely near the top.

Fingers crossed for gym time on Tuesday.

Excellent job of managing the day to day life issues and still maintain the training protocol. More respect from me each day.

Thanks. Still feeling pretty beat up from all that happened but it's par for the course.

Tuesday training. Woke up still in a bit of a fog from all that happened Sunday and yesterday, plus a little twinge of my kids' head cold. Left hip and back were super tight from all the sitting at the computer. Decided heavy training was out and went for heavy on the mobility work to try to get out all the kinks.

20 min foam rolliing, lacrosse ball
40 min mobility work including quadruped hip circles, banded squats, stability ball glute bridges, single leg glute bridges, reverse lunges to knee hug, etc
    20 min stretching

Will probablly take another day of rehab before I'm back to baseline and I'm good with it.

    Default Wednesday...chest, shoulders, and abs

Woo hoo, I finallly got some gym time! More like I made it a point to get some gym time. While getting the kids ready for school today I heard the washer make a strange noise and then lots of beeping. I opened the door and look inside. Talk about ugly! The load of sheets had somehow twisted around the front rubber gasket (it's a front loader) and I had a sopping wet messy knot of twisted sheet/rubber gasket. I just shook my head. Talked to the hubby after I got the kids on the bus. Warranty had just expired. So we decided before I call a repair guy to come out I should at least try to untwist the sheets from the gasket and assess the damage. I opted to get my gym time first so that I'm too tired to get any more upset at the circumstances. Good move. Best chest and delts workout in weeks! Skin was about to split open from the pump in my delts!
    Woo hoo. Woo hoo.

    Nick Tumminello's upper body warmup

    Ab wheel rollouts:
3 x 15 - best prior was 12/set, had flames shooting out my abs
    going for 20 next week

    Over & back presses:
    2 warms
    3 x 50 x 12

    Incline bb:
    bar x 12
    65 x 12
    95 x 12
    105 x 8
    95 x 15 rest paused twice

    Incline DB flyes:
    1 warm
    3 x 40s x 12

    Flat DB press:
    40s x 8
    45s x 8
    50s x 8
55s x 8 heaviest in weeks, felt great

    Cable flyes:
    3 x 10 x 20

Reverse DB flyes, leaning on incline bench:
    3 x 15s x 12 overhand
    3 x 20s x 8 neutral, plus 20 partials on the 3rd set

    Leaning DB lateral raise:
    6 x 20 x 12 each side, no rest between last 2 sets

    Six ways:
    8s x 8
    8s x 9
    8s x 8 plus 20 partials

At the end I had the best delt pump ever, veins popping everywhere like never before. Totally spent! Could hardly pick up my water bottle. Had to rest a few minutes before hitting cardio.

Finished with 20 min on the elliptical.
