Thursday...lotsa rehab, light lat training, last cardio session!
Bits and pieces of Nick Tumminello's warmup plus chiro prescribed mobility work
I kept it VERY light and easy today with regard to training, by ANYONE'S standard. I know pushing it at all at this point will only hurt my meet day performance. So today was just about a little muscle activation and then hit my final cardio session.
Took a light body bar and did a barbell pullover to my bench "start" position, mentally row the bar to sternum, pause, press to lockout position, pause, repeat a few times. My focus was just thinking about lat and rear delt activation and not even getting a pump. Did a few sets of 6-8. Then did a couple sets of 3 with the empty bar. Definitely helped ward off the jitters.
3 x 20 x 15 straight arm pulldowns (I could do 30 at this weight)
30 minutes on the elliptical and that was all she wrote.
Overwatered yesterday and today, 1.5 gallons vs. my usual 1 gallon. Weight coming down a bit. Nothing extreme. I don't plan on using a diuretic at all. I don't believe I need it and I'd prefer to not have to use anything if I don't have to.

Good thought, if I wasn't such a featherweight regarding alcohol! Seriously, one glass without a truckload of food might make me puke all night.
I've recovered from my jitters for the most part. I'm actually less nervous for this meet than I ever was at 3 days out for hitting the bbing stage! No tan, hair or makeup to worry about! No drive to the venue the day before for a polygraph...a girl could get used to this!
Tomorrow I plan to cook the rest of my food for the weekend so I can just brainlessly heat-n-eat, and I'm even making some goodies to bring along and share on Sunday: Nutella fudge and peanut butter sandwich cookies.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

I'm bummed that it's NOT on a Saturday as that would be MUCH easier on my family. But what do you do when it's the last meet within driving distance for several months, y'know? Thankfully my husband is cool with it.

Flights for Sunnyday should've commenced about an hour and a half ago EST. She likely won't lift until squats are done (unless USAPL have changed rules, AGAIN), and then they make it too the Bench portion. She'll be one of the first lifters.

Morning session done. Awards going on now.
Sunny's results:
weighed in at 50.2 kg. Unfortunately Sioux-z didn't show in time to help me with lift-offs. :-/ Got through it anyway.
First place 52 kg weight class bench press only.
New state record Masters (45-49) in 52 kg weight class of 52.5 kg (115.7 lbs)
(Missed my 3rd attempt at 55.0 kg)
Had me a blast! I am hooked. Definitely doing this again. Depending how the hip holds up in training I'd like to try deadlift also. I am only 5 lbs away frim that record of 220 now.

Me with Sioux-z Hartwig Gary. Only woman I know in my age/weight class who can outlift me. And she happens to have 22 national and 4 world titles under her belt. I'll be hitting her up for coaching in the near future.
