    Monday 5/2 bench-only

    First thing this am:
40 seated arm circles in each direction
    25 elbow curls
    3x20 kneeling ankle squeeze
30 supine foot rotation in each direction per foot
    30 supine point/flex per foot
    20 cat-and-camels at fast pace
20 McKenzie press-ups at fast pace
full BW squat with 30 sec hold at bottom

Crazy day today. My youngest had a field trip to the Turkey Hill ice cream plant and was bounding with excitement. Parent-teacher-special ed conference for my autistic kid in the mid-morning. Exterminator coming in the early afternoon. It wasn't much but at least I got SOMETHING done.

    Warmup at gym:
10 frog stretches with a few reps internal rotation to each side
    10 prying pushups
    20 arm crossovers (10/side)
20 over & back banded stretch
    20 band pull-aparts
20 kettlebell halos (10 each direction with 20#)

Bench press: (each rep paused 2 sec, press to lockout, reset shoulders at top, repeat)
    bar x 5
    65 x 5
    85 x 5
    105 x 5
    115 x 3
125 x 3 - felt light, decided to bump up the weight
    3 x 128 x 3 - PR of sorts - highest weight to date for 2-sec paused triples!

And that was all she wrote.

Yep, it's that time of year! I only have 2 raised beds and then some mixed non-raised. I pulled 4 ticks off last night and a spider crawled out of my hair today in an office.

    You gardening badass, you!! <3
I am a wimp, would've freaked after the first tick and the spider crawling out of the hair would have done me in. I coat myself in bug spray and then garden with a can of Raid beside me, just in case. I think the creepy crawlers sense it cuz I have never had to use it.

    Not sure about the badassery.

More likely, I sense that I am looked at as a little bit loony by my neighbors. I have limited full sun and space for vineous vegetables in my backyard, (living in a city) so I am using a portion of space near my sidewalks for zucchini and cucumber beds. We converted the grassy sod by digging it out and planting veggies mixed w/ tall flowers so it "beautifies". Next year we are getting chickens. Almost every block in my neighborhood seems to have a family with a chicken coop. Completely legal here in the "south". I figure, since many folks don't even mow around here more than once a month, I can do whatever i want with my yard.

I hear you on the limited space. We don't have much here and even though he grew up on a farm, my hubby is not as adventurous as I am. Yeah, between my "look" and the sad fact that I can out-lift every male in my development AND now the flowers and veggies in every corner of the yard, our neighbors are convinced I'm looney tunes. They won't know what hit them in the fall when I start planting fruit trees in the front yard! I've read that columnar apple trees make a great natural privacy fence. Hee hee.

I'm excited for you with trying chickens! I have several friends who have them. My grandparents kept them in a relatively small yard and when we visited them it was fun for me and my sister to collect the eggs.

Yes! I know this well! I have to look into those apple trees. My sister just planted a couple, along with peach trees. I used to have black walnut, which was astringent but tasty... lost now through disease and divorce, haha.

My sister also has 10 chickens and manages to collect about a half dozen eggs a day. Of course, they live waaay out in hicksville (and I don't mean NY). I figure, a dozen or so hens should get me my target of 8-10 eggs per day, which is what we need around here for our daily consumption.

Garden Web says the columnars branch, which is fine by me. I'm excited about these too. Looks likes you can grow them in a large fiberglass pot. And about 12 feet high is not bad in ground. I saw they are prone to webworm but I'm not sure if I'd have an issue with spraying 2-4 trees. I'd probably do it, judiciously and peel apples.

I read the Garden Web info. There have been some recent new crosses that are more disease resistant, don't branch as much, and only get about 8 feet tall. I'm not afraid to spray if needed but yeah I'd prefer to keep them organic if I can.

Off day from training today. Administrative home stuff required my attention. Then I attempted to play dog groomer and give my (large) poodle a haircut.
