Tuesday 3/20
Snow and sleet started falling about 8:30 am. I went to the gym and managed to get my planned mobility work and 40 min of cardio done before my kids’ school called to say they were closing 2 hours early. I had just enough time to pick up a few things at the supermarket on my way home.
The rest of the afternoon the preciptation alternated between snow and sleet. Nice. Not.
I made the fam homemade minestrone soup and fresh bread. My house smelled heavenly.
We received the call just after dinner that schools would be closed on Wednesday. Whole fam slept in, including yours truly. I woke up at my usual 6 am and snuggled my 2 poodles until 8. Glad my usually-needy fam left us alone for once.
I had plans to go to the gym for mobility work and cardio so my joints wouldn’t stiffen up before my meet. The weather had other ideas, though. Snow has been coming down steadily at a rate of 1-3” PER HOUR. All businesses are closed, including the gym. I was texting with a friend and said, “Well I guess God is telling me I don’t really need cardio after all.” Out od my control, so I’m not gonna sweat it.
The state highway admin called a few moments ago, advising everyone to stay off the roads. My guess is schools will be closed tomorrow as well.
The good news is, my laundry is all caught up. And I am making baby back ribs and cornbread for the fam for dinner tonight.Last edited by Sunnyday; 03-21-2018 at 02:29 PM.

My chiro was closed yesterday as was every business in this area because of the snow and so I went in today for my adjustment. He said good grief you’re a mess! I said tell me something I don’t already know lol! I told him I had every intention of going in yesterday but you know, gym closed for snow and there went that plan, and today is too close to my meet. He said ummm you just cannot think like a regular person with your issues so go in the gym after your adjustment and just hit warmup weights for just a few reps to about 80%ish and stop. I’m like ok docs orders gotta go lift, such a problem for a gym rat to have! Lol!!
Dynamic warmup
Bulgarians:
3 x BW x 10/side
Squats:
Bar x 1 with 10-second descent followed by 10 reps
95 x 5
95 x 5
116 x 5
138 x 3
149 x 1 - felt awesome and the perfect place to stop without going overboard
Bench press:
bar x 10
75 x 5
75 x 5
100 x 5
121 x 3
132 x 1 - felt awesome even though slightly misgrooved coming off my chest but didn’t feel heavy. In the warmup room at my meet I would have repeated this. But I promised I’d go easy. So I stopped there
And that was it.
Bodyweight is just inside of 112 lbs which is exactly where I want to be. Overwatering is done. Now starts the dry out. Planning just mobility work and light stretching tomorrow. Home stretch!!2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

I have done this for both strength/power and for bodybuilding, after all the heavy work is done and during the week leading up to a comp/show. After the competition I evaluate my own performance and any feedback I got from judges/coaches and start fine tuning everything.
