Anavar and Gaspari Novadex
I'm doing the homework for another lady friend at my gym. She doesn't wanna post on here for whatever reason so here I am posting in the Fem Chem section even though i'm a dude.
My friend is in the off-season and her trainer has her doing Anavar at 10mg/day, novadex (didn't get the dose) and an OTC fatburner. She has her doing this to help keep her dry while bulking up....to me this sounds stupid (in the medical sense ) and counter-productive. When I do my bulking i want to avoid anything that will dry me out to save my joints, and fatburners tend to stunt appetite making eating a more difficult task...can't eat, can't grow.
Is Novadex necessary? She's taking Anavar already, why take a nat test booster if there's no nat test? And from the Anti-e aspect would it be wise to block this? Do women have to worry about controlling estrogen while on such a mild cycle? Side note, as far as i'm aware this is her first cycle.
I realize that men and women are different but this just seems wrong from my practices, and i don't want to see her hurt herself in anyway or slow her progress. It seems like her "expert" has her traveling down the wrong path in my eyes...but i don't claim to be an "expert" so i could be wrong. Thanks for your help!

I don't Think Nolvadex is necessary since she is taking only 10mg/day of Anavar but its always good to have a test booster on the side for bulking or D-bol.

I am on a var cycle right now and I am also taking nolva by Astra Zeneca(tamoxifen). Nobody told me to do this; I am doing it on my own volition. In fact, some well meaning guys have told me exactly the same thing as you mentioned, that the water retention will help the joints and strength gains. But I personally have a zero tolerance for bloat. I'm willing to accept diminished gains if it means less puffiness.
I'm near the end of my cycle now and I must say I'm very satisfied with the decent gains I got from it. If I ever go on cycle again, I would stack nolva without a 2nd thought.

huh, cool! I guess it's just personal preference. Did you notice any extra joint pain or anything? Puffiness is awesome personally, i love when my face swells up like Mr. Potatohead. lol

She is figure. And i need to make a correction, she is at the beginning of a 16 week prep. But i still stand by that drying out that early probably isn't the best idea.

Nolva I would probably hold off on if you're doing a long cycle - keep it to like 8 weeks max because you're manipulating your estrogen levels - long term use can start to produce early menopause-like effects. There's a certain degree of sides that come w/ AAS use - I would hesitate load up on stuff to reduce those sides (unless excessive water retention - e.g. deca) until e.g. the end fo the cycle for ex if you're doing it for competitoin - but not for "comfort" during the whole cycle. You need some estrogen.

RE: use of Gaspari Novedex - it is a test booster but also has a "natural" anti-estrogen - not a SERM like nolva but an aromatase inhibitor which is more important for men, but can dramatically inhibit estrogen for women - the primary result is ultra dry joints. I'd put the Novedex in the last 4 weeks of the cycle prior to the show before I'd suggest running it for the duration of 16 weeks. If she's already using a real AAS I don't see the gain of stacking w/ Novedex for "natural test booster".

Thank you Sassy! I was thinking correctly then, at least based on your advice. This was the advice of her contest prep coach so i'm sure that even if i tell her, she probably won't listen. I'll try though. Thanks again.

When you're self-medicating w/ things that alter your hormone profile, think in terms of why you are using this or that. There's a certain amount of "You just have to deal w/ it" when you go this route - you can't pick & choose your sides. But its all towards an end goal, not a maintenance goal and its not necessarily about being comfortable the whole time at the cost of your results. WTF is the point of putting your body thru the stress of the cycle (and its not just water bloat - its internal stress too - blood pressure, etc) if you're not going to let your body get the most out of it.
JMHO.
RE: water bloat - does she actually know it is due to the var? If its at the start of long prep cycle, is it possible its from diet? I'm just not a big fan of long-term manipulation of water (estro) - it can be such an amazing bitch on your joints at a minimum.
