Masters and prohormones
I am just curious if anyone has used any prohormones. Most of the folks that report on it are younger and would like to know how they work with older lifters.

3 years ago I did. Epi and Pheraplex. In the end, it was not worth the sides.

i ran a test cycle of the ironmaglabs dmz...is it really a PH...its listed a one...but its really a steriod(designer)...worked very well..similar to a dry dbol or turniabol...gained 12 lbs in 1 month...good strength gains and vacularity..its the only PH i have ever used...so i dont have anything to compare it to PH wise...got BW after the cycle..my liver levels were elevated but in the high normal range..i also ran liv-52 2xed with it...

Really depends on what you consider to be old lifters.
Testosterone production naturally declines with age. As you age, your test levels are considerably lower than they were even 20 years ago.
A PH would give you a temporary boost and then you'd probably be in worst shape then you originally were.
TRT is minimally invasive and when it kicks in, you'll feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof. This is coming from somebody with experience in the area.
I would also suggest you seek out a true TRT specialist instead of your endo. A specialist is more likely to dose you higher as they probably understand and appreciate the benefits of higher test values.

I'm not a fan of prohormones. I used FinaFlex 550-XD in 2009. I had lab work the week I started and again afterwards in hopes of obtaining a script for HRT. One of my liver enzyme results (ALT) was 97 before taking the prohormone and 557 approx. 3 months later.

I have no idea why any masters lifter would take prohormones when getting a script for hrt is so available. Why not just up the dose of test if you're already pinning yourself weekly to begin with?

You know a lot of these were originally steroids off the drawing boards of major pharmaceutical companies back in the day when anabolic androgenic steroids were all the rage in research. The "prohormones" or "designer steroids" are the pones that failed in development. usually they failed in toxicology studies. So, rats, cats and dogs didn't do so well with this stuff. If you really really dig you can find this stuff in the 1960s literature. That's what Patrick Arnold and others did and just rediscovered these compounds and synthesized them. It takes a good organic synthetic chemist and he pretty much has to be an artist as well getting it all to o with good yield and so on. But the bottom line is most of this stuff was/is either ineffective or toxic.

I could be wrong, but I don't think 1-AD ever fell into that category. All the other stuff, yes definitely.
The fact remains, the stuff that's still legal is more toxic than the illegal stuff (ie superdrol and dmz). Halodrol is some good stuff, but why not take oral turinabol if you have access to it? Less stress on the liver, more potent per mg.

It was approx. 3 months between labs. As for the prohormone, I took 1 bottle, cycled off for 30 days, and took a 2nd bottle. I got a 'deal' on it and used it as an estrogen blocker in place of the Novedex XT I had been using. I was also using Liver Care at the time.

How do you all deal with increased hematocrit as well?
