    Default any suggestions on carb up

    Last show 4 weeks ago i came in a lil flat not too bad but could of been better knowing how i looked mid day sunday...pretty much i did 400 carbs sweet potatoes on wednesday and thursday over 8 meals each day ate 8 ounces of chicken and tbsp of natty peanut butter with each meal... and on friday i had 650 carbs from rice cakes over 8 meals and ate lean cuts of steak 6-8 ounces and a few tbsp of peanut butter every other meal as well... any ideas i been reading alot about reverse carb loading starting more carbs on wednesday when im more insulin sensitive anyone has any ideas let me know thanks

    i normally drink 1.5 gallons a day so i go up to 2 gallons monday-wed thursday i drop to gallon and 2 20 ounce waters then friday i half gallon..(took dyazide at night) and in morning i sipped and as far as sodium i sodium load for weeks then on thursday i add no salt to anything same with friday..usually have something salty before competiiton

    TJ,

    I saw your pics so you def had some things right and your load was pretty moderate really.

    But I would do the higher load wednesday (maybe more than 650 up to you and how flat you are) and I would hit the higher glycemic carbs then more rice cakes then if you like, there are better sources IMHO, like white potato is a favorite of mine. Then hit the 400s on Thurs and Friday with more lower glycemic carbs. My favorite carbs to load are sweet potato and white potato and a little bit of rice cakes. I feel those all allow me to eat teh most with no bloat and assimilate well.

    I dont like to cut sodium but I do stop adding outside sources two days before my load. There will still be enough in the gut to load your carbs plus you shouldnt cut out any foods that contain it.

    Then bring it back Sat morning which I think you did.

    Really you werent that far off Id just hit higher glycemic on Wednesda with the largest load then.

    hey man thanks really appreciate it...made quite a bit of improvements in the legs with extra posing and cardio hopefully works out..

    and this is considered reverse carb loading right?? why do most advocate the gradual carb up method any science behind the two? one group use diuretcis or wat?

    I dont really give it a name. You are just hitting more when you are most depleted then using thurs and fri to watch the mirror add more if flatten out add less if spilling....as for diuretics id use something like Scivation showtime the first two days and if youw ant to play your diazide do so friday and sat morning.
