Progesterone
Well this is my first post hopefully I dont get flamed for this. I have researched my ass off and progesterone seems to by good for the female body. It seems to be a natural antagonist to estrogen. No endo reports to give you but my wife seems to be estrogen dominate, she has very menstrual cycles, no libido, highly emotional. Would natural progesterone cream hurt her workout goals? Would I product like estrodetox from charles poliquin be a better option.

Progestorone opposes estradiol during a woman's monthly cycle. Unopposed estradiol can cause cancer of the uterine linine. Progestorone is essentially a hormone to prepare the body for pregnancy. IMO, taking progestorone in the form of BHRT therapy made me want to kill people (lol). I got bloated, fatter and was a b&tch to be around. The safe route is to get your full hormone panel taken by endo or doctor who KNOWs a woman's endocrine system very well and get advice that way. All women are different (plus we're all in different phases in our lives - which makes a huge difference) in how they respond to hormone therapy. There's no one size fits all solution.
I hope this helps. I'm typing fast here cause I have to get back to work...

Oh, and yeah progestorone does help with water retention to a degree. You will pee like crazy, however the "bloatiness" I'm refering to is not water retention but rather kind of gassy, digestive system bloat. I hope this makes sense.

I made the mistake of having bloodwork done the day before my cycle started
So if luteal phase just under low end but if follicular then i am in range
My next blood work won't be til i go for physical I am planning it so ob/gyn and physical 6 months apart so i can get blood work twice a year under wellness otherwise all out of pocket cuz deductible huge
So far i haven't found any dr i would ever trust with my hormones

Well she is going ahead and giving it a try. I guess it couldnt really hurt anything. I have researched for couple months till my brain hurts! I have read many things claiming that it boosts libido in women, contray to its effects for men. Anything is worth a try it is terrible to have such mismatched sex drives. I would guesstimate that mine is 1000 times hers lol. Very frustrating, but I am patient and we will keep trying things. I have spent most my time since we have been married trying to figure this out, so no hurry at this point.

She should have blood work done
could be low testosterone in that case could have pellets inserted in the glutes that release the right amount
guessing what is wrong could make it worse

you are right but she wont go to doctor, she wont admit anything is wrong. She refuses to take prescription medications. Fortunately she will cooperate with anything over the counter, so I am just trying to work within those parameters lol. But you are absolutely right, though doctors in this area are still in the past, the love to give estrogen that is their cure all for women.

I would like to know the answer to this myself... I am currently on HRT and am taking a progesterone/estrogen cream.. While it didn't really help my libido, it did help my crazy mood swings tremendously. My doc prescribed a testosterone cream (small amount) for the libido.... I really didn't feel any difference in it - it was pretty much the same as using a heat-type vaginal lotion - for me anyway..

Maybe I am even going in the wrong direction! I dont know! She has tried about everything! It always SEEMS that being the keyword to logic that more test/free test and less estrogen equals more sex drive. I know though that it isnt that simple with women. I am here to learn though! She just will not use anything illegal or prescription or go to doctor about this, so we are just left with OTC products. While I also no there isnt any magical pill for things either but maybe a combination to get things going in the right direction.

I know maybe this won't work for you, but my husband made the appointment for me with a hormone doctor - I didn't want to go either.. but after blood work was done and prescriptions worked, I was so grateful.
Yes it is EXPENSIVE if you don't have insurance
