Water Retention with Anavar
Hello - I just started my first ever cycle of var this past sunday (5mg a.m & 5mg p.m.) and have gained some weight over the period of the week. I believe it to be due to water retention. I have been eating clean and the only real change that I have made is up my protein intake. I've been lifting 3 days a week and cardio inbetween those days, leaving a day for rest.
I have read that some don't experience water retention while others do. I'm not sure what "normal" is or if everybody reacts differently.
I am on birth control and have continued to take it since I started my cycle. Would this be causing it?
Should I change my workout schedule? More lfiting, less cardio? More cardio?
Just looking for some advice and what I can do to keep the retention to a minimum!
Thanks for your help!

A couple of things come to mind:
1)double check your source to make sure you didn't get something other than anavar.
2)pretty much all steroids are going to cause a certain degree of water retention. Some more than others depending chemical structure. Anavar is supposed to be the least water retentive.
3) can you elaborate on the type of BC you're on?

There is good water retention in addition to shitty subQ water retention
Anavar pushes water into the muscle so they are rounder and fuller and your wt will go up
And yes some people get a little subQ water from var If you aren't about to get on stage a little bit of water retention isn't really that big of a deal

I did do a lot of research on sources and do hope that I chose the right one! I understand that there will be some water retention, and what I am experiencing isn't at all that bad, just an annoyance and can only link it to my starting a cycle of var. I use Sprintec b.c. I know that I shouldn't let the scale control my progress, I suppose I shouldn't even look at it! I just want to be assured that these few pounds can be explained by water gains and not something I'm doing wrong!
Thanks!

Wife is back taking her winn tabs, 20mg ed. On her first week and retaining water. The puffy face is what bugs her the most. Getting water intake up, cardio bumped up and eating cleaner it will come down. Remind her its just water and will get her to her goals faster. You'll be fine. And the scale is not always the best barameter of improvement.

Is where she notices it the most each time she starts. Under eyes is where she feels it. And it happens each time. Once she gets past first week she's good.

What is your goal right now. Bulking? Cutting?
I haven't taken Var, so can't give any info/advice there, but recently I tried Epi. I did notices some subQ water retention, and upping my water intake helped.

Right now, my goal is to cut...keep my gains, but loose some body fat. Since this was my first cycle, I wanted something that had minimal sides and found that var was the best match for me. I'll definitely try upping my water intake...thats one thing I know I can do. I hope it helps!

Cool. Don't be freaked out by the scale. My weight loss stalled on epi, actually went up a couple pounds. Body comp did change though. Clothes were fitting looser. I wasn't dieting extremely hard, but certainly in a caloric deficit. It gave me a bit of a boost in the recovery and fat loss I think.
From what I understand, results from var and epi can be similar.
