What magazines dp you buy????
The reason I'm asking, I like to read workout magazines sometimes, and am finding it harder and harder to find one for women worth a crap! I used to read Muscle and Fitness hers, but it seems that it is shrinking fast. I won't stoop to the Shape's and Fitness mags cause, well, IMO they suck if you're actually serious about lifting.
I do love being on the computer, and visiting the various sites, but sometimes I like curling up on the couch with a good magazine!!!
Sorry for the rant....

Oxygen
Honestly, I don't read any of them any longer. You guys with the huge sponsor ads in your signatures make reading the forums annoying.

I am a fan of Oxygen for a good 'magazine fix' BUT...honestly there is SO much more info online, I'd rather just use an Ipad and browse online. =)

Just picked up "Clean Eating" April/May 2011 issue. The cover offers "61 Quick & Light Family Meals" as well as "Your No-Diet Diet - 14 days of meals to keep you healthy & lean".
And if you want no ads, but good info there's Robert Kennedy's (of the aforementioned "Oxygen") magazine/book "Oxygen - Total Summer Body Plan". On your local newsstand now.

I used to subscribe to Oxygen, but now everything they print I've seen... even the pics. Things are just being recycled.
I do like Clean Eating, I'll pick that up for some new recipe ideas.
I used to grab MD... they were doing features on FBB there for a few months about a year back, but that died. I can't stand several of their "columnists."
Flex can have some good stuff.
But, really I don't read many magazines anymore. Like was said, way more is available on the internet. I do miss having a good old fashioned magazine though.

I tend to get my 'fix' when I got the nail salons. They always have some random gossip garbage there to feed off of. LOL I'm really into books lately.......

Ugh. I am a magazine ho. Lol. I buy them all, any related to bodybuilding at least.
I finally sent in a bunch of subscription cards so that I can save money!!
The first one i started reading was MD. Wish it featured women. A lot of the women mags are very fluffy.

They are the books that the HBO show TRUE BLOOD was based off of? I LOVE them!!! I'm at like the 8th book??? You can fly through them too while doing your cardio!
LOL, So true! Sometimes I like the fluff, we are GIRLS after all. . . but I hear you and super agree

I just finished reading Sophies Choice by William Styrom, great read.
Speaking of magazines, who here remembers the early 80's when we had 8 different womens bodybuilding magazines every month.....wow! That was an awesome time!
As far as todays periodicals, the only thing I read these days is Vanity Fair. It has some great writing, a nice mix of hollywood, and in depth political stuff.

Yes.... true!!! I guess my "fluff" now is reading all my BB Health and Fitness stuff.... even though its not fluff.
I WILL read a gossip rag if I see it, BUT I WILL NOT buy them anymore.
@The guy who said we waste our money and its all about the internet- I spend LESS on magzines since I discovered these forums!!!!! I am a pediatric home care nurse with a bit of downtime at certain cases and I am ANAL about making sure I have entertainment with me for when my kids are napping, etc. But a few clicks on the smart phone now and I'm in Heaven!
I just don't like to miss anything. I also use the magazines for cutting up for vision boards, and what not. I collect my MDs.
I WILL NOT buy "Health" "Prevention" "Self" "Shape" etc. I'm sorry. Those magazines are a freaking JOKE. Women's Health is one of the worst. I want to bitch slap the people who put these rags out. OK... I'm too new here to say more, I'm shutting up!!!
XOXO
