I do go for A.R.T (and deep tissue massage combined) and I also see my chiropractor once per week. I don't get A.R.T or deep tissue massage often enough though about 2x per month.
You're right if I'm 100% in this gig then I need to be 100% committed to my recovery too. It's very expensive in my area (Richmond, VA) especially if you get a therapist who knows what they're doing. I usually go 90 minute sessions and it cost me about $80 per session plus $30 per week for chiro care.
My knees haven't benefited much at all because i've pretty much destroyed all my cartiledge left in my knees but my lower back, trunk, hips, shoulders benefit greatly from therapy.

90 min of ART? Even if your whole body gets worked on no human could endure that. I went in today and I'm out within 30min. Not to say your not getti g proper ART buy most people say they know it and do adjustments with minor trigger work. It took me a few times to find someone who does it right.
Trust me Kevin besides ART I wish I practiced what I preached more.

no, 90 minutes total including deep tissue and a.r.t. i would estimate that a.r.t. is about 20 minutes and the rest deep tissue. i'm sore as hell the next day. the guy i go to is a.r.t. certified but only recently. the a.r.t. he does really doesn't hurt as much as the deep tissue therapy. i've been told though for someone who does as much training as me that i prob should do it one day per week.
my chiro is a different doc. he does a pretty good job adjusting me but since he doesn't do massage therapy it cost me $120 per month on chiro care and $80 per visit on massage (a.r.t).Last edited by KevinCouch; 07-13-2012 at 12:00 AM.

Quick Question for those close to a competition. This is my 2nd show, but these last few days I am having a ton of trouble sleeping. Literally lay in my bed for hours before going to bed.
Now.. being so close to a show i dont want to start supplementing with a ton of things. I get in a daily night routine of toning down music, keeping lights very dim etc etc.
Is there any advice? I just have a very hard time. A big mix of emotions of being nervous/excited to step on stage, plus energy is slowly fading as the stage gets closer.....
If anyone could give a hand I would appreciate it.2013 & 2014 RX Member of the Year

St Johns is likely best thing without a prescription for mood/anxiety, just be aware if you're on any other meds it interacts with anything and everything

1 Week Out
Weight 154:
Looks like i am getting tighter/dryer day by day.. This is absolutely crazy. I don't know how Jason does it, but he bumped my calories and I am getting leaner...
I hope to god I can have a somewhat decent rebound after this show like Austin showed, and how bush did with adding 60 Pounds!
Can't wait to get back on the stage in a week. I am getting so nervous/anxious at the same time.. Still trying to find some sleep, going to try to take a nap tomorrow afternoon.2013 & 2014 RX Member of the Year
