3 days out NPC Pittsburgh 2.5 out Jr. USAs
I am very depleted in these pics... carbs low, sodium high, water high lol.. I start carbing up tomorrow and the "dry out process". I know my hams and glutes must be tighter at Jr. USAs so I am going to hit it hard after pittsburgh. I am hoping more detail will come out once i stop cardio and dry out and fill out. My fault for getting too fat in the offseason lol.
Anyways, I am a little under 200 right now, 198 in the morning.. I will be a LHW for both shows.. 22 years old.

Looking great especially since you are only 22. I did the show last year the LHW was the toughest class there were 17 competors. Stay focused and don't do anything drastic and you will do well. I will be competeing as a welter weight.

Looking good.
Definitely work on the posing.
Side TRICEPS-Show those triceps!
Rear double, bring your arms in a bit more to like you're punching yourself in the head.
Go get 'em.

Quads and back looking good. You'll be even harder for usa's. You look leaner than your last contest pics too.

You made some progress. I agree no need to get to 255 off-season if you are competing under 200 and still have ways to go to be pealed. I think its great you recognize that you must get harder for JR USAs. Do you need to qualify at the Pitt or are you qualified, and if you dont get top two are you going to do a lesser show to try to get qualified?
Your side shots look great nice hams, nice thickness head to toe.
See how in your front lat spread we see more of the top of your arms, I would rotate like that in the front relaxed to look bigger.
Good Luck Matt,

Couple things:
Those trunks are ill fitting, especially from the back. Dont wear those trunks at JUNIOR USA!!!
Also, dont ever grab your trunks ib the front lat spread, judges hate that.
Get leaner for Junior USA and you will do fine, you know what to do. Good luck.

thanks bro! yea no doubt I am leaner than last year.
Thanks Scooby for the posing advice! Yea, I got out of hand near the end of my "bulk". I think I gained like 20 lbs in two months and most of it was probably bad weight lol. I won't let that happen again, and even though I do plan on trying to move up to heavies after a nice long offseason I plan on keeping bf under 10-12% the whole time.
I am qualified for Jrs. from Collegiate Nationals last year. I wouldnt try to qualify at the Pitt haha. It is going to be an insane show this year and would not be surprised if it is just as competitive as Jr. USAs. I realize both shows are high level competition and are basically one step below pro qualifiers. I am hoping to do well and focus on bringing my best. I am not delusional and think I will walk into Jrs and will be handed an overall ha. Just hoping to get the experience and my name/face out there a bit more and take it from there. I am kinda already looking ten steps ahead to next year lol. I don't know what I will even end up doing once I finish grad school.
thanks for the tips PJ! I have a few other pairs of trunks I will wear. Those were mainly just for the night show, but I will get rid of them. Yea, I am gonna be living on the stair stepper two hours a day heading into jrs.
