Shoulder Problems-hope someone can help
As I was getting ready for jrnats i hurt my shoulder doing something stupid. I was doing either shoulder presses on the smith machine(not stupid) or Arnolds(stupid for me). This was about 6weeks out from jrnats and I continued to go heavy the next 4weeks leading up to jrnats. I had so much pain that i could not hold my arm up during prejudging. I didnt do finals and lost a few places.
I thought i would be able to rest it over the summer and it helped a bit. Its Nov and Im still in pain. Its sore just to wash my hands. I have no insurance so everything is out of pocket. I just got an xray last week and it came up negative of what they thought it was. But they said that there was a mild case of osteoarhritis. I know that isnt whats causing the pain. I need to see a shoulder specialist. I need to get an MRI(for cheap). Does anyone know of anything ?or anyone willing to do pro bono?

Obviously an MRI would be great for a visual confirmation of exactly what's going on but until you can do that, try to narrow it down. First, are there any visual signs of damage and/or inflamation? Second, do some movements(without weight of course)- straight arm from your side out like a lateral, from your side straight forward like a front raise, overhead presses with elbows out then also infront, also twisting your arm out and in as far as it will go. Take note of how/where each movement feals on your shoulder and go from there. Third, I'd make sure my diet is as anti inflamatory as possible.

I know of no person who would do this free of charge. The tests are costly. If you find someone to evaluate you for free, you have struck gold.

I have always thaought "Arnold press" was bad for your shoulders. The y were just not designed to do those types of movements under weighted stress.
Everyone thinks they are GREAT though.....because they have Arnolds name on them!Gone but not forgotten, I remember you too Dookie!
