Best Nail Polish Ever!
Ladies,
I recently had my nails done at a salon who offered this product for natural nails:
http://www.nailharmony.com/products/...el-polish.html
New from Hand & Nail Harmony comes Gelish Color Gels. The gels come in an array of colors, apply like polish, with twist cap and applicator, but are cured in a LED lamp in 30 seconds or in two minutes in traditional UV lamps, just like gels. Gelish stays on nails for three weeks with no chipping or peeling, and soak completely off in only 15 minutes.
I work in healthcare and cannot have fake nails. Regular nail polish chips off after a day of wear. This new stuff has lasted over a week through multiple hand washing, lifting, and even changing a flat tire! It is still shiny like the first day it was applied!! 35 bucks but WELL worth it , imo.

This thread is not as exciting. I liked your 'small waist, big booty' thread, what a tease.
maybe i'll paint my toe nails and give you a male review, what's your favorite color/glitter choice?

Any surface damage to your nails? I love the look of fake nails, but hate the damage it does to my real nails under.....then it seems like it takes several weeks to get your real nails back in decent looking shape.
GRRRRR - pulled up link - not even available in my area!!Last edited by PFEPerformance; 05-14-2011 at 08:55 AM.

PREP, good question that has yet to remain to be seen--this is my first application and since you cannot just remove it at home with regular nail polish remover, you have to go back to the salon and have them soak it off. I am a little nervous about them scraping on my nail to get it off, because like you, I hate the damage fake nails do to the real nail upon removal. I will let you know how it goes.
Another Brand that some Salon's use is this one:

So call around your area and find out if they do "the new gel nail polish for natural nails".

I use it. If you don't pick it off, it won't do anything to your natural nail. It's thinner than acrylic so your nails will still be flexible, which is a good thing. They'll still flex without snapping which is what acrylic does. And yeah, never chips.

My salon offers a line by Creative. I will be going this route in a couple weeks for my first show. The last thing I need is chipped nail polish right before I step on stage!Really looking forward to trying it after reading this thread.

Wow! That would be great to hear. I need it. There's no nail polish that ever lasts for 2 days with me. My hands and feet always sweat so, nail polish was easily removed.

How they hell do they not have these in North Jersey!?
I'm definitely interested... I'm on my way to becoming an RN so no nails for me!

Nice!!!! I HAVE to keep this link on favorites. I'm going to be trying the 'shellac' soon.....I used to get fakes all the time and I totally LOVE 'the look' of fake french tips, but since I've gotten a touch screen phone, they just don't WORK any more =(
Gotta love beauty and technology!
Thanks!

Update on the shellac I got for my show last week: LOVE IT!! Best looking French mani I've ever had. My salon has the Creative product, btw. This is a different formula from OPI so I can't speak for their shellac product.
1. Speed of application. The tech paints it on, and after every coat, you put your hand under lights to "cure" for what to me seemed like a short period of time, between 30 sec to 2 min at most, depending on which coat in the process. While one hand is curing, the other is getting done, so to me this seemed to take less time than a regular manicure. AND - no drying time after the curing process is done: COMPLETELY DRY NOT JUST DRY TO THE TOUCH! No chance of smudging while fumbling for the tip or your car keys!
2. Durability. Even though I am slamming my hands all over the place, washing my hands ALL the time with 2 toddlers in potty training and all the soaking, washing, and wiping up that goes with the territory...my nails look like they were just done. A regular manicure lasts 2 days at best for me. Manicurist told me I can expect it to look this good for 1.5 to 2 weeks.
3. How to remove (per my manicurist). I'm told this stuff CAN be taken off yourself. You need 100% acetone (think HomeDepot, not the drugstore). Soak a cotton ball in the acetone, then hold it on your nail for about 3 min, then take a wood stick (not metal) and try to lift off from the cuticle toward the nail tip. If it doesn't lift easily, hold the cotton ball on the nail another 3 min and keep doing this until it comes off easily. Don't force it or you could lift off a layer or two of your natural nail.
4. Drawback is in order to get this done you cannot have any pampering that many of us appreciate with a manicure. The extra oils and moisture will prevent the shellac from properly adhering to your nails. Small price to pay for a manicure that outlasts my toddlers!
This stuff is the BOMB! I will be getting this from now on.Last edited by Sunnyday; 06-08-2011 at 12:18 AM.

Glad to hear it worked out so well for you too!
SheWulf-I work in healthcare as well, and that is why I wanted to go this route. I bet they DO have it in Jersey--you just gotta ask them for it and make sure they understand what you are asking for (shellac). If they have it up here in bum fuck Egypt, they have it in Jersey!
My sister had it done and soaked her's off at home with acetone with no problems. I had it removed by the salon with no problem either. It came off easier than I expected and was happy that it did not fuck up my real nail. I got another color put on and am loving it as much as the first time.
Good shit. I'm hooked!
