Why are you running a cycle of nolva?
there is really no point unless you are doing a show or photoshoot or something where you are targeting a certain date. The benefit you get goes away as soon as you are off
if you don't taper off right get big estrogen rebound as in big fat ass

I didn't have a rebound effect before, but I did only run it for 2.5 weeks. I gained weight after because I ate like shit. HA.
We are doing a photoshoot soon.....

I don't know who told you that but I have the mirena and I did not have any issues. I can't say I have an exceptionally high pain tolerance and it might have been uncomfortable but really pain??? wow, they told you that? and bleeding? I guess everyone is different but I haven't so much as had a period since I had it put in and this summer I am getting it taken out and another one put it... There are occasions where certain positions during sex were a mite bit painful but that is an easy fix..... just move.

Nolv, is a SERM, and wouldnt make for birth control. Is there a reason you wanted to use this as B.C. ?

Ok, I think there was a thread on here and some girls had 'horror' stories, like the IUD tore through the wall of the uterus and stuff like that....
I think I'd go with the non-hormonal one obviously....the more positive feedback I'm getting the more I think a trip to the doc is gonna be underway...
Zim, no way. I NEVER wanted to use the Nolva as a method of BC, But since last time I missed my period, I was just curious if it would decrease my fertility during the time I was on. LOL. I never thought it would be like a 100% ok sub from BC. Just curious was all.......

I considered the IUD, but was turned off by the idea after hearing that women who have never had kids have a higher risk of rejection and/or pain.
Dammit, where is that male BC already!?

LOL! My thoughts exactly. I think women are more likely to keep track because we have to deal with the consequences form 9 months (atleast the pregnancy aspect of it). My guy can barely remember to take an aspirin when his head is pounding.
Let us know how it goes because I'm curious.

Just talk to your OB/GYN - like I said - I think the biggest thing you're going to run into is that they don't recommend it for women of child-bearing years. I had no kids, granted I was older when I got my Mirena, but have had ZERO issue w/ it at all.

Yeh, I'm kind of afraid about that, but I think my mom actually got pregnant, WITH the IUD in with me?! I wish I could ask her! UGH! Thats times when I really miss my mom, for LIFE questions. Anyways. I want kids later on in life, MUCH MUCH later, but just not now, and I wanna play it safe. I think I'm going to go with the copper one. I should be getting health insurance in the next month or so so we'll see whats covered.

Even though I'm a guy I still read all this and I learned a lot...don't know if I'll ever use these information in the future but still great read.
They have it for guys. My friend has found something that it was an injection and it would cause them to shoot blanks for a long time and then they had to go take the shot again BUT as a man that knows a lot of other men I would not trust them with BC. I mean they already cheat a lot and the baby thing is the only thing they are scared of. Imagine what would happen if they didn't had to worry about that anymore.

Funny you should mention this. I just had this chat with my OB/GYN and she said that putting in the IUD doesn't hurt, you just cramp up while it is being inserted. She said it is 100% effective the second it gets inserted. She told me I could have sex in the parking lot! LOL!! She said I could go workout an hour later! She also said you have to have your period to get it put in. It makes it easier and ensures it gets inserted correctly. Your uterus is expanded during this time. It can stay in for up to 10 years, but can be taken out whenever. Doesn't matter if your in child bearing years or not, you can get one as long as you don't immediately want kids. Insurance covers it only a percentage (depends on your plan).
So I have to wait till aunt flow decides to make an appearance. I haven't seen her in SOO long I forget what she looks like. After my show I may need to take the metaprogesterone drug that makes you get a period! UGH!
