I haven't been using this thread as my training journal because quite honestly I can't keep up with posting my workouts everyday. My training has been going well. I'm going to skip this year's Masters Nats in Pitt and prepare for the Nationals this fall. I'll be 46 years old this fall and I want to put this old physique up against the young mass monsters. I plan on being a middleweight and I also plan on being right in the mix for the top spots. I have no excuses for my age and as long as I can stay injury free, I feel I can give those monsters all they can handle. Here's a couple of pics taken recently weighing in the low 190s. Staying lean and planning on growing into the big show.

here is a guy who will get a pro card if he competes. To stay in that kind of condition over the past two years (that I have been browsing his threads) is also incredible.

Thanks Keith! I just want to go into the Nationals knowing I did my best and I displayed my best. If the NPC Nationals (not Masters) has past me by because of my age then I will just have to deal with it. But i honestly feel I can still be competitive and that's what it's all about. I'm a BB true and tru and I'll never give it up.
Thanks Keith.
Thanks my friend. My age isn't really a factor with how I can prepare my body to get into condition. We just have to be more creative with the ways we can continue to maiintain and even build muscle these days. I've had my share of injuries over the years and the last couple years have been no different by we all just seem to keep overcoming them and moving forward. That's IMO what a true winner is!!
Thank you bryantone. (D) for your comments. As you know it's been a tough year for me and I've hung on to BB as my stress reliever and it keeps me grounded. I stay in shape 365 days per year because I love BB. Not because I'm preparing for an upcoming show. What these younger competitors don't graps it that keep your life in balance and you can engage in your passions like BB but in moderation because like it or not we ALL only have one life to live and you better the make the best of it. I've chosen to be a BB a long, long time ago but my first and number priority is my family and it always has been. If it's not the right time in my life for me to compete then it's not. I'm gearing up for the biggest show of my life and I'll be 46 when I step on stage at Nationals this fall. One thing I can guarantee you if I can stay injury free that I will be competitive with these younger monsters. If I get a pro card someday that'll be a a great accomplishment but if I don't, I have no regrets my friend.
Just trying to be the best Dad, husband and son (my father is going thru a lot since we've lost mom) that I can be!!!
Keep the faith!!!
Kevin
Thank you Pam. Hope your training is going well!

Looking great Kev, hope all is well with you and yours. You are so right about the pro card. I know some guys who go around "talking" about "when" (not "IF") they're going to get their cards and they NEVER break the top ten in natl level shows, but almost everyday you see them post pics on FB of their strengths, ie: abs, quads, etc. It's almost become comical to me to watch. You on the other hand, have what it takes and Im sure you will look your all time best when you do hit the stage again; which is after all what it is all about.
