Peptides causing cancer?

GH and peptides/growth factors promote cell proliferation. Therefore, there is reason to think cancer risks may get elevated to some degree.

Doctors have been tracking cohorts of acromegaly patients. Do they have increased cancer risks? Mixed findings.

Go to PubMed and you will find a vast literature on all this.

I take gh and peptides, but recognize I may be running small risks. To the OP, I wouldn't worry too much.

anything can "cause" cancer. thats a fact. problem is "cause" is a difficult word to use with cancer.

but IMO, anything in moderation for someone with reasonable genetics can use either.

I don't think the issue with peptides like IGF or ones that boost growth hormone are actually causing cancer. I think the issue is if you have a cancerous tumor or even a tumor - that tumor is more likely to grow or get worse. If you have a family history of this - or suspect you may have a tumor - you should be getting regular check-ups from your doctor and avoiding all GH boosting products (that includes hgh as well)

Other than that - I don't think they actually will CAUSE tumors.

This interests me very much. I have only taken the first majors biology in college so take what I say with a grain of salt! The problem isn't too much growth but uncontroled growth. The problem is with our natural defense of apoptosis(cell death). Due to complicated multi step cell signaling, our cells know when something is wrong and destroy themselves and this will happen even if you have high levels of gh/igf and the sort. So I would guess that gh, growth factors, and peptides would only exacerbate an existing problem, not create it.
