usually 16wks but I looked best after 20wks in 07...granted that was partially b/c Dave dried me out real nice like (say verrry southern ) for four weeks after my other prep but I think a more tapering down works better for me...

I'm the same - 16 weeks is when its ON, but I start getting into the mindset at 20 weeks out. Honestly, this time, its been an informal 8 months out I started preparing because I had to come back from shoulder surgery as well. I'm very happy w/ where I'm at but I've got some serious dialing in to do. Started AM stepmill action yesterday.

dave does 16 weeks preps...but I started it 18 weeks out(which is what I have done for past few years)( I started early because it was after holidays and I decided to EAT! hehe)
I remember for my first show I did 6 weeks, then 8 weeks for 2nd show, then 10 weeks for 3rd, 12 weeks for 4th, 14 weeks for 5th, then 16 weeks up to 18...hahaha......the longer the better and I like to start in shape!
