Personal Health vs Sport Integrity?
So I spoke to my doc this week at long last! Been trying for 4 weeks to talk with him over the phone about my 2nd set of blood work that showed my prolactin levels did not drop after a 3 month stint on bromocryptine.
After this weeks talk we decided it best not to try that again at a higher dose since my levels actually went up a bit more and due to some side effects I had with feelings of fatigue and drowsiness and even weight loss.
My doc was very sympathetic to my concerns of prolactin depressing my testosterone levels. He feels that at my age, build, diet and lifestyle, I should be in the low to mid 700's at least. Sadly I am in the very low 500's.
My prolactin should be under 13 and mine is 23. If my prolactin levels do not decline to normal ranges, my T may drop further in the next 2-3 years to levels linked to hypogonadism.
So his options were to go on Dostinex for 4 months which works just like Bromo but has less then half the reported side effects. I only take it 2x a week vs every day as with Bromo. If I feel side effects with this or we fail to see my prolactin levels drop after 4 months his only other option for me was to start going on HRT.....
Yep, prescribed intramuscular testosterone injections once every week. I assume based on my past studies of T in graduate school endocrinology class, it would be enathate or cypionate. I could be wrong though.
He said this would be a mild dosing protocol with minimal side effects as seen with those who use supraphysiological doses. However he did say there is always a chance of some side effects whenever using HRT.
This news has me hoping that this Dostinex works as good as he hopes it will and that I do not have side effects with it so I can go the full 4 months and see the prolactin levels drop once and for all which will naturally allow my T to come back up.
Taking T like this although prescribed for good reason, runs counter to what I preach about staying natural. (not saying natural or assisted is right or wrong) Now I am forced to possibly, in the next 4 months, have to take on a behavior to sustain my own long term health that could clash with my deepest virtues and values of the sports integrity.UNBA Mens Physique, USAPL 93kg,

testosterone totaling in the 500s is good and is considered average, i dont know where your doctor is getting this minimum of 700 from.. for him to start you on testosterone injections with a test total like that is pretty weird..
