I think Chris is a mastermind, but this sounds like a completely ridiculous theory. Of all of the studies done on how diet sodda makes you fat because it makes you hungry, you think that they'd have noticed if it actually spiked insulin or not. Maybe I'm wrong and they've never tested to see if an insulin response goes hand in hand with drinking sweetners vs. the real deal, but this just seems ludicrous to me.

diet cherry coke zero, pepsi one, diet dr. pepper...all good. I also like the Safeway flavored carbonated water, which isn't technically soda. $.69 for a liter bottle on sale.

diet coke, diet pepsi or we get a stuff called D'lite sugar in our country. Which is a bit costly compared to diet coke, but we get it in about 20 flavors

I also agree with this. aside from the mental-physiological response (in the form of insulin secretion) most diet soda's are sweetened with aspartame. Aspartame contain 50% phenylalanine and methanol- which leads to toxicity issues (even on the small scale). drinking alot of diet soda can cause one to develop issues with neurotransmitter function in the brain due to the serotonin/dopamine responses to constant phenylalanine intake. Hmmm I wonder why diet soda's are so addictive??? (taste is one thing, sweetness and insulin fluctuations is another-- but then consider the neurological impact and its a recipe for disaster IMO).
I also dont think sucralose is that much better. The FDA pushed it into the market way to fast to properly analyze any health risks associated with long term use. They just slapped pictures of cookies, smiling little girls and young vibrant looking mothers on splenda packaging/commercials and the dumb sheepy people continue to buy it thinking, "well, 'they' say its ok." LOL. Wouldnt be suprised if 10-30 years from now when sucralose has been passing through people's guts for a while that there are string of digestive cancers or something with links back to sucralose consumption.
I just avoid artificial sweeteners all together to be safe. I feel and end up looking noticeably better when i do.
just my 2c
