Has your physique changed dramatically as a result of your hard work in the gym or did you always have a build that made people ask if you compete?
Asking that because I always think of Eddie Robinson's quote, something like, "I became a bodybuilder because I looked like a bodybuilder."
There was a woman at a bar in Inner Harbor who looked like a competitor but she didn't know the difference between her biceps and her triceps. Some people are just born for the sport.
I know, unrelated to tattoos. Best wishes in your show whether it's one and done or the start of a long competitive career.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

Great way to remember your grandpa...
"The gym is one of life's best arenas for building the toughest of men. Not because you learn to experience success, but because you've been forced to accept failure and identify your flaws."

I heard a suggestion to get tanned and THEN cover the tattoos with Dermablend...food for thought. I may say screw it and just go without covering them...I'm more worried about figuring out this prep than covering my tats...lol. Im new to this whole prep thing and can't afford a coach or trainer as of now, and I don't know the first thing about finding one anyways. A lot of research is being done, so any help is appreciated! Live and learn right?!

from personal experience, dermablend is the absolute worst thing to use to cover a tattoo. the color just looks green and muddy on stage.
if you are hell bent on wanting to cover your ink, try colortration and use it before you get spray tanned. almost everything else is way too messy and will rub off on anything you touch, rub against, clothes, etc...

honestly, i think you'll be just fine. as a judge i can say there has only been a couple of times someone had ink that was too distracting because of placement and or size. one time a guy had his entire shoulder and upper arm covered in mostly black ink so it made the one side that was tattooed look smaller and unsymmetrical compared to his non tattooed side. the 2nd occasion was a girl, in bodybuilding who had both arms fully sleaved, alot of her chest and upper back done and again the majority of the ink was very dark so you couldn't see any detail in the muscles at all, it was completely blurred by the ink.
in bikini and bodybuilding there seems to be a higher tolerance for girls with more ink than there is in figure. don't let that worry you though, the tan should be very dark anyway and once it's on, you won't see the ink much anyway.

Thanks for your input! I greatly appreciate it, especially coming from a judge. No more worrying about the tats and more focusing on the prep!
