I've never gone more than once per month. Believe I've told this story before (believe I've told ALL my stories multiple times), but years ago I was in so much pain that when I saw a coupon for a free visit to a chiropractor, I literally jumped at the chance. It was neck pain that eventually radiated out to my shoulder. Awful.
Took that free visit coupon to Becker Chiropractic and he cracked my neck. The relief was immediate. It was as if a light switch had been clicked. No pain. The chiropractor didn't say one thing about a follow-up visit. I stopped back months later after moving a large desk at school and twisting my back or straining my neck, something. He worked his magic again.
I'd say there's a chance it was psychological or a placebo deal, but I'm sold.
That's awful and, not to make light, but I've often pictured my head coming off my shoulders, but I've never had anything but good experiences when visiting my chiro.
While the strongest evidence in support of chiropractic involves the treatment of back pain, Michael Schneider, an associate professor of health sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, says there’s also evidence for neck pain and some types of non-migraine headaches. Still, his profession is not without controversy, he says. “The controversy comes in when chiropractors make claims about treating non-musculoskeletal conditions”—claims he says have little to no basis in science.
This “failure to present a unified front” is the biggest problem facing chiropractors today, says Dr. Scott Haldeman, a neurologist and chiropractor who teaches at both UCLA and UC Irvine. “You could walk into a chiropractor’s office and find someone who is a pure back-and-neck-pain guy—a guy who has embraced the scientific research—or someone who says he can cure all things and provide general wellness,” Haldeman explains.

I never went back for a follow-up with the chiro and I don't think I'll go back to the physical therapist either. They gave me some exercises to do to increase my flexibility, but I haven't been doing them at all.
Had the doctor look at me, the chiro adjust me, and the PT gave me those exercises and ran me through them a few times at their office, but it (my pain) seems to have resolved itself. No idea where it came from or where it went. Hopefully, it won't be back anytime soon.
I've been following StrongLifts 5x5. Love the app. Think I'll pay the one-time fee to unlock some extra gizmos. https://stronglifts.com/Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

Still following my StrongLifts program. Here's a graph. I don't know what the hell it means, but there's progress being made! lol
I downloaded or uploaded their app. It's fantastic.
The program consists of three days per week of lifting. I'm doing 5x5 on squats, bench, overhead press, bent over rows, and one set of deads. The sessions alternate between:
A: Squat, Bench, Bent Rows
B: Squat, Overhead Press, Deads
I'm loving it.
There's a one-time purchase thing that costs, like, ten bucks. Not sure what it offers, but I'm sticking with the 5x5 for now. There's also a daily email that comes with it. Very cool.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

Was recently reminded of a particular perk of my school district's health care program. I enrolled today @ https://fitnessyourway.healthways.com
Paid a fee of $25 and agreed to participate in the program for three months at $25/m. After that period I can cancel anytime I'd like. The membership comes with admission to Planet Fitness, Gold's, Power Train, and other gyms.
I already have a Black Card at the local PF. This program pays for a basic membership, but PF said I can keep the Black Card benefits (massage chair, dollar drinks, etc.) for $10/m.
Power Train is personal training and boot camp classes. Lou there said I get one free boot camp class per week with this program.
I'm going to visit Gold's Gym Linglestown tomorrow to set up a membership there. Again, that gym is amazing!
The perk doesn't include the Carlisle Family YMCA, but they have some advantages that I can't dismiss, including a pool, basketball court, free weights and cardio all just two minutes (at most) from my front steps!
Note: I just saw this on their website: "You can use any of the 9,500+ fitness locations when you want, without paying extra."Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

The perks of golds is the membership is universal. So if you ever travel you are basically covered with a nice gym and great hours.

Trained at the YMCA tonight. Still doing 5x5. Hit all my goals, but am especially happy with 205 for 5x5 on squats.
It's been a long time since I've gotten that. A LONG time! I love this program.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

210 for squats, 100 on overhead press, and 255 on deads.
I hope I can get to 225 for 5x5 on squats, there was a lot of leaning back on the presses, but the deads were easy enough.
Meanwhile, Akim Williams is squatting what, 900 lbs.? O.oFacebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!
