Nate Diaz
I think he may be the most improved fighter of 2012. His style has improved to closely mirror that of his brother Nick, who is an incredible boxer. He annihilated Cerrone, who is a stellar kick boxer. He has a good ground game, to help him finish when he gets a big shot on somebody. That heavy front foot, puts extra snap on those shorter punches, which just devastates his opponents face and will to engage. I'm not crazy about the attitude, from he and Nick, but they back up that talk with some great performances. He picked apart a Greg Jackson trained striker. I'm sure that has happened before, but it was so lopsided.

I think GSP has developed a style that gets him through fights with very little damage. He has a great shot, great defensive boxing, and a gas tank that goes for days. Nick tends to get hit, see Daley fight, but has an iron chin. I really would like to see Nick win, but I don't think he will KO GSP, and I don't think he can stop GSP from taking him down. Once on the ground, GSP has crazy control and submission defense. GSP wins in a 5 round snoozer. My fervent wish is Nick works takedown defense like a man possessed and keeps it standing. If that were to happen, I think Nick wins either TKO, or punches to a submission. That is. Tall order for Nick, but those hands of his his might be the difference. He just hits people so many times in a short period of time. Not KO punches, but hard enough and sustained long enough to wreck your face, ask BJ. I think Diaz mops the floor with Condit in the run up, and GSP had better shake the ring rust off in a hurry.

I was impressed with Nate Diaz's standup. I thought Cerrone would dominate standing. Cerrone seemed to have a massive adrenaline dump in the first round which didn't help. I to don't like the Diaz brothers attitudes and I will never be fans of theirs but now I respect their game..

GSP is rehabbing a knee for the foreseeable future. Diaz and Condit fight February 4 for the interim title.

Both Diaz brothers have an incredible advantage, and it's their incredible endurance. In their off-time, they participate in iron mans and other cross country endurance events.
When you get tired, you lose some focus and search for short-cuts. They seem to stay the same through the gruelling rounds
