Here's an interesting mail I've received. The sender asked me not to mention his name, nor publish the whole mail, but I have the permission to publish the following
Big T was in good health for some time. He got a cold of some sort about two weeks ago that hit him good - flu or similar. He got over it and was ready to get back in the gym. The cold, which many seemed to have around here was gone. He left my home at ten pm and I noticed him cough just a bit on the way down my walk. I said are you still sick. He said just a little bit but just about gone. It was such a minor noise. Honestly cannot remember if it was a cough or congestion and I only mentioned it since he was just sick. He left my home and went to work at his part time job as a bouncer. I was told he was on the dance floor dancing a bit and appeared to be in good health. From what I know he was not on any supplements at the time. Due to just being sick and he had no immediate plans to compete. He had injured both his knees severely some time ago and was planning to have surgery on them and then plan his return to competitive bodybuilding. I was told that a former girlfriend came to his condo in the am and found him on the floor deceased. She said he was making tea and collapsed. The former girlfriend and him were friends and attempting to possibly reconcile their relationship. He was in a motor vehicle accident about ten days prior but it was minor and there were no apparent injuries.
T was in fantastic physical shape at the time of his departure. His knee injury did set him back but he was definitely on his way back. With planning some real estate and business moves both in the US and Thailand. I am certain he lived with no regrets and achieved only what most only dream of. I will follow up with more information tomorrow and thank you for taking the time to post the positive things you did about Troy. His entire life was devoted to bodybuilding and will be sadly missed.
Anyways, it's a sad loss for bodybuilding and may God rest him in peace.Last edited by matei; 01-14-2012 at 10:42 AM.

Crazy, he just texted me 'Happy New Year' like 2 weeks ago. I know he went thru a real rough time like 2 yrs ago when he and his ex-gf broke up. Then he had that accident where he was badly injured and practically crippled. (I dont remember the details but he told me the whole story back when). I knew he was doing better and was glad to see him on the comeback trail.
Its really sad to hear this.
If anyone knows Rachel's e-mail or FB, LMK as I'd like to give her my condolences.Last edited by ZenFit; 01-24-2012 at 12:11 AM.

Wow this is crazy, I knew Big T well and we spoke at least once a week over the phone. I used to check up on him because of his recent injuries and he used to give me advice and help me with my supplements..... I was incarcerated and I just got out but they still have my phone so I went online to see if I could find some kind of contact information so I could get back in touch with him and this is how I find out about him.... This really sucks he was a good man and a great friend and I will miss him greatly..... RIP Big T.....

i'm new to the forum but i have to chime in i knew troy for maybe 30 years and we spoke often...we last spoke jan 3 2012....so a week or 2 goes by and a coworker who used to workout out the gym in mt vernon heard fron a friend of his and thats how i found out.....i was heart broken!!!!! troy was more than a bodybuilder he was my good friend. i had no way to contact his family since i had no info on them...those who knew him know he kept everything private so when i called his cell after i got the news.... no answer..then i searched online and thats when i knew he was really dead...never again will i hear that hearty laugh when i cracked a joke....but most of all he was just a genuine nice guy...he did say he had a lil cold and i said u had that for awhile now...we never thought it was anything serious...he said he was going to thailand...i always asked him....like i asked him when he went to germany are you sure...he was always sure and driven thats the troy i knew..i loved him like a brother because he was and i will miss him...funny thing...i used to tell him...troy why do u need to call yourself big t...when people see you they will know u r one big mofo...he just laughed...he would stop by my house when he was in ny...i know he lived in pa....i hear that he was laid to rest in philly...i ws trying to get info on him but to no avail i did not.....he was honest and candid ad he was honest about bodybuilding..nuff said..and people will say it was a result of what he was doing......thats always the cop out people have about bodybuilders...most bodybuilledrs are smart...it takes a bit of knowlegde to learn the scientific approach...i will leave it there....troy i love u man...im still heart broken u will always be my good friend we go waaaaaay back....i will see u in the next life...peace to his friends and family..he will be missed...cedric
