I know man! Phil's doing something right with this diet haha

In the off season I train them twice a week - I split quads and hams onto seperate days. For the rest of the prep I have switched and will be doing them once a week to try and get my upper body to catch up. Hitting quads and hams on seperate days seems to have been what worked the best for growth. I just need to spend the next off season bringing up my upper body haha

    2. 5.5 oz of chicken breast, 3 oz of avocado
    3. 5.0 oz of chicken breast, ¾ cup of steamed veggie, 1.5 tablespoons of almond butter
    4. 50 g of whey protein, 6 g of bcaa, 1 cups of white rice, 3fish oil caps, 5-10 g of creatine
    5. 6 oz of eye round steak, 9g macnut oil

unless weight starts dropping really fast and you tighten up dramatically over next week and half then we dont fix something thts not broke. but that is the general plan yes. Bryans progressing great but w a little less than 9 weeks left our priority remains coming in peeled as humanly possible. so a few weeks of keto might be the answer to get us there as he seems to be holding muscle incredibly well if not building it as were on pretty darn low carbs already.

Yeah, this is more along the lines of what I meant haha. Just taking it one day at a time!

Everytime I post pics, they are first thing in the morning and flat so I figure I'd finally post some shots from last nights chest/shoulder workout:

Would you mind posting up your old leg workout? They've always been the hardest part for me to develop and the progress you made there is inspiring. I am sure I could learn something.

Honestly I keep it pretty basic. For quads I always warm up with about 3 sets on leg extensions. Then I start off right away with squats. For a long time I only did back squats, but sometimes now I'll switch it up with front or smith squats. I usually do about 2 warm up sets and then 3 or 4 working sets on that. The thing I notice is that most people can always squeeze out a few more reps, but rack it way earlier that they should. I've gotten to the point where my legs will be numb, but I'm still able to push through another 1 or 2 reps. It's like my body is a rubber band - I go down and always seem to rebound out of the hole, regardless of how fatigued I am. After that I will usually do a few sets on the hack squat machine. Following that I'll do some leg press work. For the leg press I always focus on the contraction of my quad. I squeeze my quad to push the weight up and don't worry about how much weight im actually doing. I usually don't go much higher than 4 or 5 plates per side. Finally I finish off with an extensive leg extension superset. I usually do leg extensions until my legs are shaking and about to fall off

For hamstring I keep it pretty simple. I choose about 4-5 exercises and focuses on a great contraction as well. I will usually warm up with standing leg curls. Then I will do lunges and/or jefferson squats. After those I'll do some laying leg curls, then like 2 sets of seated leg curls and finish off with straight leg deads.

The problem with legs is that most people kill their quads in the beginning of the workout and then neglect hamstrings. You would never workout your whole upper body in one day, so why would you do it to your lower body?

Let me know if you got any questions bud!

Thanks, man! That part ^^ has got to be the key. What was your typical reps/weights were you usually doing for squats? As embarrassing as it is to admit, I am one of those guys you refer to who ends his squat workout earlier than he probably should... I honestly have no problem going to failure on any other exercise and can really kill it on upper body, but I have this crazy fear of injuring myself with squats that holds me back. I'm tall and I think part of it is that I never feel like I have good balance with it... I'm not sure how to get over it. Anyway, your intensity is VERY impressive. I'm sure you are going to do well in this sport!

Now don't get me wrong, I don't mean go until you literally cant get up and are forced to use the safety bars. That will just lead to an injury.. which is exactly what I did in high school haha. My reps and weights really vary all depending on the workout. If my knees are feeling good and strong, I'll usually end up going a lot heavier, but I still typically dont go to much heavier than 405. I really just listen to my body when it comes to determining the workout. It's been awhile since I've had a really intense squat day, but I think the last time I did a set of 315 for 30 and then 405 for 12 after that. I usually don't go that heavy or high, but I was having one of those good leg days haha. Now if only I could get my chest and back to match it

Thanks Waylon! I know I've been saying I was gonna compete for a long time, so it's about time I finally stepped up to do it. I've decided that I'm slowly gonna get my hair cut shorter and transition into the sweet bald look haha

Today was 7 weeks and 2 days out. I know I've been slacking on this thread, so I just wanted to throw out the most recent progress pics. It's coming together, slowly but surely!

Weight has been sitting around a constant 215-216 the last few days. Might not end up as a light heavy as expected
