    Default 14 yr old powerlifter

I have a 14 yr old freshman that made the school pwl team(they have had 2 meets already)...pretty big accomplishment since only 2 freshman made the team..and he goes to a 5a school(thats the largest schools here)..he's 6'0 240..he compete's in the 242lb class against kids of all grades..they have a meet every friday..so the coach has them stair stepping up ew in there lifts to hopefully be at there pr's at the final big meet..his lifts so far are as follows...

    Deadlift-395lbs
    squat-375lbs
    bench-195lbs

just by watching and a little bit of guessing i would say his dead max is prob 430-440...squat 405-415..bench 210-215...not bad for a 14 yr old..but he is a big kid..and not really fat..

Fyi..at the last meet a kid(senior) squated 750..pulled 650..and benched 375..thats pretty impressive...so thats what he is aiming for over the next 4 yrs..

Powerlifting has really taken off as a high school sport in Texas. Our local school has had a team for over 10 years now.
When my son was in school he was telling me about kids squatting 500 - 600 and some from other schools hitting over 7 and I thought
" bullshit" but I went to some of the meets and sure enough they were hitting those numbers.Your sons numbers sound like a very good starting point to me.As young as he is he could really put up good lifts in the next four years,
