Nice log you have going here. You have a great physique fromm what I can see and some really strong lifts! I wasnt sure at first until I converted everything from kilograms lol I was checking out your leg workout and reading how you do leg presses. Have you ever tried using constant tension? I like to put my feet high on the sled at about shoulder width let the negative down slow and bring the rep just shy of lockout. Try a few higher rep sets of these (15 reps or so) and see what you think. Keep pushing man!

Thanks mate, yeh food is a little pricey her, but its all good quality at that.

I haven't been to Fiji yet, I know a fair few Islanders from there though. Flying from here to Fiji is about 3-4 hours. Ive heard its a great place.

thanks dude, I actually tries repping like when I do single leg stuff, at the moment my right leg tends to take over when I use both legs, I still got some issues with my left quad firing properly.

That is a great idea. I used to do alot of unilateral stuff to bring my right quad up to myeft because of a knee operation I had a few years ago. In the offseason I would add in some sets to finish off my workout on the day I was having my weekly cheat meal. Even if that wasnt a leg day I would still finish off with some sets for my right leg and that seemed to help.

I actually made the first post today in the morning. I had to step out and make a few errands for my girls birthday which is tomorrow.
One errand was actually for myself, deep tissue therapy. I fucking hate it, the shit hurts and I am a big girl.

Ive watched those Derek Farnsworth videos....fuck that, if he came near me, I would run like fuck, or throw holy water and garlic at him or some shit, that guys as strong as hell, and whoever lets him work on there is a Sado-masochist.

i had an hour and a half done today, mostly on my lower back, hips ass and quads. My quads hurt to buggery, but I have to say, I feel a shit heep better sitting here tonight.

after I got home, I sat around waiting for Mrs Gunshow to return from work, she usually comes with me at night with one of her friends, (yes I train with two chicks), but her friends up in Queensland or something so she didn't wanna come. Plus its her BDay, so she probably wants a little break from the gym anyways.

So gunshow went shoulders solo today.

So it was straight into standing locked leg shoulder press.

warmed up with 40kg, two sets of 12
then a set with 70kg, one set of 12, the last 4 reps, I held the bar static midway to lock to just get a feel for the flow of the bar, if you know what I mean.

    then onto 100kg,
I got out a set of 6 on the first set,
    6 on the second,
then on the third got out 5, then dropped it back to 70kg- (im using olympic plates at this particular gym, so I had a red 25kg plate a side, with a yellow 15kg=100kg, to drop back to 70kg, just strip the yellows off)
    then done a further 5 with 70kg.

after that I moved onto front raises, I dropped the reps back this week to go up in weight, Ive been staying at 15reps per arm lately, but aimed for a bit more resistance with 10reps.

i got 10 an arm pretty easy with 20kg.

then tried 25kg, well, managed 6 an arm with pretty good form, but I would have started to swing like a demon to get the fuckers up, so In the same set, I dropped the weight back to 12.5kg per arm, and kept em coming, only managing a further 7 per arm, fuck me my lateral heads were pretty fucked, my anterior heads were roasted.

onto side raise, starting off with a set of 7.5kg per arm, absolutely immaculate for for 10reps, that pumped them.
    10kg per arm x 10 reps
    12.5kg per arm x 10 reps
    15kg per arm x 10 reps x 4 sets

on the last two sets, the last few reps looked like I was thrusting some invisible chick, just to get the fuckers up, mate they were hurting something bad!

the past few workouts i have finished off fronts and sides with lock-stop bar press, using the preacher bench, its great for getting your shoulder in the perfect pressing position, and getting my massive head out of the way, but some blokes had the idea that the preacher bench would be great for curling on, so i couldnt use it. so I used a machine, I pretty much go half the stack, then the full stack, and rest-pause at the top and the bottom of the movement.
I done two sets with the stack, the first I got a hard as fuck nine out, I swear the last rep must have taken 5 or six seconds, didnt that fuck me for the next one- I only got out 5, barely five.

for rears I started off on bent over lateral raise, I have been focusing on taking a very wide arc of movement for this lately, so the weight had to come back. just 15kg for 4 sets of 12 on this, but fuck they blew up, my shoulders looked like big boxes.

then onto the hammer strength pec flye thingy, for rear delts, using 61 kg for 3 sets-

    1st set, got out 15,
    2nd set got out 11
    3rd set got out 7

    shoulders were toast after that.

Been off training for the third day now, come down with some sort of chest infecting-cough up mountains of goo disease.

Sux.......but I though better to take some time off than completely fuck myself over, so I will probably make my come back tomorrow.

Kinda took a few days to hit me hard, sort of sick on Tuesday which was an off day, came and smashed back on wednesday

    had a killer session

started off with warming up on lat pull down, then went to chins,

    done three sets,
    12reps on the first,
    10 reps on the second,
    8 reps on the third

then went over to bent over rows,

after 2 warm up sets, I got to my working weight of 140kg

the first set I stayed a little conservative and left it at 6 reps

on the second, I got out six again, a alot harder though

and on the third I hauled the fucker up for 7, and the final set wasnt even terrible form.

then went over to the ancient row machine for single arm rows,

warmed up and went half the stack,

the first two sets I got out 9 good reps per arm, its really hard to cheat on this fucker, you kinda locked in,

then on the third set I died in the ass on 6 reps

the back to lat pull down for some immaculate technique wide grip, three sets of 15 rest pause bottom and top had my lats screaming, im actually embarrassed to mention how much weight I was using, it was girly-but fuck it was hard.

Now my lats are fucked, lower back is pumped, im rooted, time for deadlifts

started off with 120kg, set of 6

    then 150kg set of 6

then 180kg set of 6.....I could feel every muslce in my back working their little tendons off during the last few reps.

thursday the day after this I start feeling a little worse for wear, but still able to train..........sorta

leg day, started off warming up with leg press, just 1 set with 100kg and two sets with 150kg, dont really count the reps, just focus on developing a burn.

    then onto squats, rock bottom!

warmed up with 70kg for 12

    then 100kg for 12

    then 120 for 8

    then 140 for two sets

on the first set I got out 6 pretty decently easy

then on the second one, my left leg was fatigued, and my right leg began to brunt the load, I fuckin nearly lost a plate I got that lob sided, it was terrible, and dangerous, so off the squats and onto machines,

went over to our hack squat, a tuff stuff one, just a lightish weight, and focusing on using my left leg, for deep slow reps,

    4 sets for 15 reps

and then over to leg press, 200kg for 3 sets,

on this I start with my feet low and wide, go full rom with a rest on the pins, and squeeze the sled to the top and then (after 6-10 reps depends on what I get out) I put my feet close and high, throw the crash pins in high too, and crank as many partials as I can, I fucking pumps and burns like crazy.

after three sets my legs are all fucked up, but the left is complete rat shit, which is what I want to bring it back up, so thats it,

come friday I was smacked, by back, lats , legs were all hurting big time, and I started coughing up sludge, green sludge!

    fuck I wanna just train

went back to training on sunday, training chest with Schmidy,

I train at two different gyms, one in a lovely area called Leonay, at the foot of the Blue mountains just outside of sydney, and the other being in Mt Druitt, a pretty rough area of Sydney.

This day we trained at the Mt Druitt gym, I am reversing my car into a spot outside the gym, and this criminal walks up to my window holding a stolen gps in his hand, "hey bro, you wanna buy this Tom Tom" I respond back "no, and keep on reversing in.

I have not even finished parking yet, this scum bag keeps going on, "come on brah, you got a gaol shirt on". I am waring a green shirt, which is the same color as the prison uniforms in Australia. "I got it from Myer" I respond back (Myer is a big department store chain here)

"yeh you got your arms from Myer aswell brah, so did I" he rolls up his sleeve and starts flexing his arm, the dude had some little guns on him, but he thought I was a crim, I drive a fucking Audi, what sort of crim drives that?? I just said, "good for you, not interested see you later".

He walked back over to the other side of the road, where his pregnant girlfriend was waiting with a pram, looking pretty disappointed that he didn't sell the GPS.

Schmidy and his wife were parked a few spots back from me, he had seen what happened and said, "I was waiting for you to get out of the car and smash him".

To be honest, the though of belting him crossed my mind, but fuck knows what I would catch off him I had cut my hand open on his tooth(no joke, I counted one visible tooth)

Upon telling Schmidy and his wife what had happened, and this being his wifes first time at the gym there, Schmidy and I were like "Welcome to Mt Druitt.......lock the car and hide anything valuable lol.

    CHEST-

kinda ended in a bit of disaster..........read on.........not a huge disaster but.....just read on

well started off on the strive press machine, with more tension at the latter part of the movement.

4 sets in total, working up to the whole stack for just short of 10 good reps, during witch, I could feel a little strange sensation in my left pec that I should have listened to...........now you see where this is going.......read on

so then its onto incline bar press, me and schmidy have known each other for years, we went to Primary(elementary) school together, high school, training together for years, going fishing, bushing, drinking travelling all sorts of shit. This guy has put on a fuck load of size over the past 18months, and his chest lifts are coming up with mine now, I was always a big bencher, he was a big squatter, now he is a big bencher and big squatter........asshole lol.

anyways all of the weights posted are pretty much what we both done,
so yeh onto incline bar press, we worked up to 120kg, and done three sets of 6 reps, no spotting we are too manly for that,

then onto flat dumbell press- we started on 45kg dumbells, done a set of 10
    then onto 60kg dumbells
    done an easy 8 reps

now for the 72.5 kg bells the biggest in this gym, thats 160lbs.

I wrap up my hands, and get him to hand me one, he asks me "want a spot" Im all like, "naw if I cant do it, I suck"

he puts the oversized fucker on my lap, I swear they are made out of rubber 5kg plats and are long as.

I roll back with em and burst out the bottom, easy they fly up, I lower them to start doing reps..........POP.....my left pec, it hurts, I turn the massive fucking dumbells inward and start to drop them down to my chest to take the tension off my pec..........Crack.....something else...........I get them there, and the drop them to the ground, one last POP for the road as the dumbells crash.

"fuck man, I think I tore my pec" im feeling around for deformities,

"are you serious"....."yeh man". Schmidy grabs my arm with one hand and with the other, grabs a hold of my pec towards the insertion and starts feeling for a tear.

"its all still there man, theres nothing" I had a stretch, it hurt like fuck.

schmidys all like "well Im glad you done that first, cos im not fucking doing them now" ........thanks mate lol

we moved onto the strive incline machine, where that particular movement didnt even hurt it, so I done 4 or so more high rep sets to get some blood in there and taht was it for chest.

My guess it was some scar tissue in there giving out, I have done the same minor tear on the same spot about 5 or 6 times now. It still hurts but it will be fine, just no heavy pressing for a while.

    Yesterday I done hamstrings

    starting with stiff legged deadlifts,

worked my way up to 220 again, getting out a good set of 5

after that, I done three sets of 6 with 120 kg, off a platform with a huge stretch

then went onto lying leg curl, but on a plate loaded machine, using two and a half plates, I done three sets, rep to fail then drop to 1 plate then rep to fail.

then went onto standing leg curl, but using a leg extension, worked great, I used my leg independently of anything to hold it still, engaged my hammies like hell, I done 4 sets all up, of 15 reps per leg.

Today I was supposed to train shoulders, but I got a call from my sister that her daughter had pneumonia and had been taken to hospital, so its fuck muscles, fuck work family before all, and I spent the whole day there, she is ok they actually sent her home tonight, where as lucky I was there to take them the hour or so drive home from the hospital.

Maybe back tomorrow, see how every thing is first. If all is well then im back, if not, like I said, fuck muscles and fuck work

After a bit of injury and other stuff going on, I have to say training is almost as good as it could get. Eating well, sleeping well, injury free(for now) and the leg is coming up. I have trained the past six months, but kinda on idle. So hopefully I can get a solid year plus of hard training in without no more crap.

I was writing an essay for university today and I thought I would post part of it. Phsycological babblin jibbers it is.

The absence of my father left a masculine role model void, a lot of the men in the area were alcoholics who worked and drank. The television provided role models in the forms of hyper masculine characters in television and movies. Most of what seemed to life’s problems could be solved by muscular men, beating something down or blowing something up, a far cry from real world issues. Learning that lifting weights was a means to developing musculature eventually led to bodybuilding. The world of bodybuilding was appealing on many levels, the hard work, discipline, and individualism all rolled into one masculine pursuit. Magazines were the first median of acquiring knowledge, the first time in my life knowledge directly affected an outcome. Once I had outgrown my home gym I joined a commercial gym where I learned that the acquisition and sharing of knowledge was the cornerstone of bodybuilding.
