Better yet if you have a food processor you can make your own butters. Something like hazel nut, almonds, macadamia nut and cocoa nibs and some EVCO or pasteurized egg white thrown in would prolly give you a decent butter. Mix it with the better protein bar mix and you got yourself a nutrient dense portable healthy snack food

Yeah I actually tried to make my own nut butters before with a blender/food processor and it really didn't work all that well- really dry and clumpy. The commercial grade nut butter extruders work by simultaneously heating and grinding the nuts- I think if I lightly heated the nuts before throwing them in the food processor it may work a bit better.

It takes a looong time. You can add oil to help it turn to butter faster but if you keep on processing the nuts it eventually turns to butter.
I make my own butter all the time in a food processor.

do any of you guys add extra protein powder to your bars? some isolation works well since it's thin and doesn't add any carbs or fats, just straight up protein
