its pretty good. its a pain in the but but way better for you (especially if you have glucose/insulin issues) than any peanut butter and honey at that amount. plus the whole food protein boost from the eggs is always good. this way i consider it a healthy meal with a little bit of sup in it.

Nice that sounds like solid recipe! Ove alway wanted to make my own nut butters and have even looked into buying one of the machines- but they are crazy expensive. I've heard you can do it with a blender if it's powerfull enough. What are you using to make your nut butter? Are you using raw nuts?

Nice! That sounds really good and I can definitely see that really boosting the taste of the bars, as well as the nutrient profile. I tried something similiar once using walnuts, brazil nuts, and pecans and it kinda worked but it was super dry and nearly fried my blender in the process, lol. I think adding some egg whites for a lil liquid like you did will make all the difference though.

the taste was good but i dont know if it was better. just better fats, more protein, and less carbs. the eggs helped but next time i make it im going to try mac nut oil with less or no eggs. this batch was a little on the slimy side which went pretty good into the bars because as it set it became sticky and held the bars together even better , but didnt stick to our hands when we ate them.
i think theres enough flavor in the bag to allow a bit of leeway for experimental shit to not turn out bad. every time i play with them they still taste good but usually dont taste as good as just making them how the bag says.Last edited by joe d; 03-14-2012 at 07:30 AM.
