Supplements now banned in the UK?

Here is a email I got from a retailer

We have been informed by the MHRA that we need to go through our entire product catalogue and delist many products.

We will be able to fulfil all orders that come in but once products are delisted it will not be possible to buy them. We are taking legal advice on this but for now we must comply with the law even if we disagree with it.

Here is the list of ingredients we have to date which are hit. Products containing these will be removed.

Where products are known by more than one name you can assume it applies to each name. For instance 1,3 dimethylamylamine, DMAA, Methylhexaneamine etc are all names they know for the same nutrient.

Technically ALL THE SUPPLEMENTS are banned!

There already a PETITION going on..

Does anyone knows something more about this?

Thats going to send a lot of companies for a loop. Believe it or not A LOT of companies make there $$ in Europe and Australia. That being said, to ban those ingredients is going to put a strain thats for sure. I worked for a company that was originally in Canada but opened up a Detroit location in the US. Health Canada banned a lot of thing similar to that and it cost him a pretty penny. Also their next step in Canada is to make people have to get a prescription for even natural supplements like vitamins and such.

It will be interesting to see how this folds out either way. I definitely feel bad for companies that do most of their business overseas tho!

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous! I fucking hate government...nothing but a bunch of fat fucking retards!!! What kind of world do we live in where you can fucking ruin your life with alcohol, tobacco, paracetamol and other bullshit stuff but you cant improve your health with natural stuff like melatonin and valerian?? I really fucking hope this creates a MASSIVE black market for all this stuff. They are obviously not going to back track and stop this now...fucking great. First they fuck up the food chain now they take away all the supplements!

Them banning this stuff will only boost the US economy I'm sure. I don't think it would fly with people here in the US if we had to all of a sudden close every GNC, vitamin shoppe etc..
People like these stores and their supplements.

It has to be a lot of nonsense, Valerian for one is in most over the counter sleep aids that I can buy at my local Tesco Supermarket!! The only answer I can think of is that someone is trying to create a panic buy in sup users!! ~
