Top 2 in each class of men's BBing at the 2012 NPC Nationals will turn pro!
I'm surprised not to have read this news on any of the boards (maybe I missed it)........
"Top 2 Place Class Winners in Men’s Bodybuilding will be eligible for IFBB Pro status. The 1st Place Class Winners in Women’s Bodybuilding will be eligible for IFBB Pro status. The winners in the each of the 6 height classes in the Women's Figure and Bikini divisions will be eligible for IFBB Pro status. The first 2 in each Height class in both Men’s & Women’s Physique divisions will be eligible for IFBB professional status."

Big news considering last year only class winners turned pro in men's bodybuilding.
Confirmed by Pam Betz via email.

I guess the whole adage that no one remembers 2nd place needs to be 3rd place now lol

At least we'll have more than 4 competitors in the show like the Desert Classic, but this sucks for all the guys who have previously gotten 2nd

This is such a stupid decision.
I understand the allure of money, and this assures that the coffers (which are already filled to bursting!) will be fuller, still.
Aren't there enough no-name Pro's in the Women's Divisions? Now the "talent pool" is to be watered down further.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
You can now be an IFBB Professional Bodybuilder WITHOUT EVER HAVING WON ANYTHING! What in the HELL is wrong with the NPC?
