Fatigue all the time. Even after sleeping 7 hours, hair loss (shedding a lot), cold all of the time, can't focus, foggy thinking, can't get through my day. The Dr. took a blood test and checked my TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3, and reverse T3 levels. He also checked my antibodies to my thyroid. Levels came up high with the antibodies and my T3 was low. Thus a sign of Hashimoto's disease.

I am sooo tired and unmotivated. For the first time in my life, it is so hard to get to the gym and train. I took a week off 2 weeks ago and thought that would help but it didn't. I got through this week training but it was like pulling teeth. I am convinced my adrenals are all screwed up. I can't wait to get my test results back. This is killing me!

UPDATE: So , I am waiting to do the 24hour cortisol urine test. Last weekend was that time of the month, so I didn't do it. I can't do it at work, so that leaves me this weekend. I have a party Sunday, so it has to be Saturday but the forecast shows it is going to be nice. I want to go to the beach but it is the only day I can do this test. Sigh. Decisions, decisions.

Wow I just heard about this disease in the last month. A client of mine's sister got diagnosed about 2 months ago and my client also had all of the symptoms. She went down to a specialist in Chicago and sure enough she had it as well. She Just started on her meds the end of last week and all of her motivation, energy, etc has improved ten fold! Her doeses for meds will also go up as they need to ramp slowly but she said she has never felt better! She was having extreme weight gain over the past 6-8 months with no explanation as her diet is clean. This disease also induces celiac disease making you intollerable to gluten and other foods which would then cause more added fatigue, swelling, weight, gain. SOO many things going on in your body with someone who has this problem but in my research and what I have heard/seen it is a super quick turn around when you get it all nailed down! There is some baywatch star who also had this disease and now has a blog or site...I would try and google it. Good luck you will be back to yourself and probably better in no time!

Thanks so much Casie! My diet is clean and I have gained weight. My dr. thinks it is my adrenal glands. I follow a gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free diet. Any info would greatly help me! I am glad there is a good prognosis to all of this. I just want to feel normal again!

I did some research and I definitely have metabolic damage. Adrenal fatigue is one of the symptoms. Sadly, there are a lot of competitors experiencing this but not too many share it. I have decided to since it has become a huge issue among competitors. I have looked up trainers who deal with this and have come across 2. Scott Abel and Erik Ledin. Both are expensive, but that is the price you have to pay to get better. I have contacted Erik and he has a waiting list! You have to pay more to get yourself to the top of the list. Thinking of doing this, since he knows his stuff.

So, I want to compete in physique next year but still undecided on how I should train for this. Some people say high reps, low weight and cardio, others say stay away from weights and just do cardio. Would love to work with someone that REALLY knows their stuff. They need to 1) Know how to fix my metabolic damage and 2) Know how to get me to downsize for physique.
