I'm just under 5'9" and weighing 165 yes I am way too tall for my weight and my other problem is I have an athletic body meaning I actually have long limbs even for my height... I will be working with lower rep ranges which I have steered away from in the past

Man take some time off, like a couple years, lift heavy, hit compound moves and put on a lot of size and thickness, obviously you can get lean and have good shape/structure you just gotta put size on your frame

I did that show is 2010 and I remember there being about 20 guys in the open middle weight class that I was in. You are ahead of the game. Crush those quads and hammies!

i stay pretty lean year round and have a very hard time adding mass, be it muscle or fat. it can seem like a curse in the off season, but if your coach is on point and tuned into your body, i'm sure he'll be able to help you grow into the show. it's a tough balance to strike but if you guys get it right, you'll be able to stay full and round as u shave off the little fat you have.
btw, where do you train? i'm over at novi PH

yea i mean this is the first year i've ever ate quality food and even at the beginning of the year i was eating my usual favorite candy pop and chips ( lots of 7-11 runs lol) but i felt like shit, i never gained body fat but i had constant head aches or stomach aches from how much snacking i would do but now that im eating clean i feel so much better...i trained at powerhouse troy and madison heights for about 4 years but the owners started to rub me the wrong way (i was deadlifting at 10 am one morning and the owner asked if i could stop cause it was too early for all that noise...that was the last straw) i recently started lifting at LA fitness i dont mind it much but man are there some characters there lol

im a guy who has never reached 180 lbs so as much as i would love to gain 5 or 8 lbs every year i dont mind being a slow gainer and bein able to stay lean...most of the guys that i look up to are hard gainer (chris faildo and jeff rodriguez) as thick as those guys are you never see them fluctuate weight but are always diced during competition...i'm actually excited to be performing compound movements which i have honestly never performed consistently, so we'll see how my body responds

Looking great, man, esp natural. What do you do for your shoulder? (exercises, sets, reps)
What's you diet?

Thanks, first off my shoulders are definitely my best body part along with my waist so I don't do anything special... I usually do about 3 or 4 movements and pick one movement where I perform heavier weight in the 5-6 rep range usually dumbbell presses/ military presses... I am currently training triceps after Delts on the same day when I wasnt competing all of last year I trained them once a month or sometimes would throw in some laterals at the end of chest and not because I didn't think I needed to work on them but just kind of a boring body part to train for me!
