Curt thanks buddy!
All is well.Training is good for the most part.I'm down to 185lbs and am getting in good shape.Turned 59 three weeks ago and weigh less than when I graduated high school.Down side is because of a hip problem I cant squat.I have always considered myself a squatter even when I was powerlifting squatting was my true love.My first workout ever was my senior year in high school early spring. My buddy Doug Woody and I went to the house of this fellow the great Paul Brodeur.Paul went to the same school as I but was about 5 years older. He got into bodybuilding at about 13 and later switched to powerlifting. He was somewhat of a legend around town for all this lifting at a time when almost no one did.We went to Paul's house early one morning to do our first workout. He had a home gym and had two squat stations set up.Me and Doug on one and he and his training partner on the other. So we do single attempt squats and Doug gets 250 and I dida rock bottom squat with 300.No wraps or belt. Now I had nothing to compare this to except the 565 lbs Paul was doing reps with so I was not impressed with myself.Paul said "hey that's pretty good" I kinda shook my head and he said 300 was more than he did his first workout by a hundred pounds.I said "No shit?" and I was hooked.I saw Paul a fewyears later squat 920 and someone told me he eventually got close to 1000.He was a great inspiration to me.He passed away about 3 years ago but he got be started that first day.Anyway I'm ramblin and remenicing. a bit as I do my legs with leg extensions and leg curls now.Maybe I can get fit enough to squat again eventually.Last edited by cook; 04-11-2018 at 01:26 PM.

Sunny that was from 1980.I was 20 yrs. old doing a 600lb. squat there.I had forgot about this pic then 2 weeks ago my son was training in his garage and he sent me a picture of 380lbs on the bar he was getting ready to squat.I said well get under it and squat it.About ten minutes later I text him and asked how it went and he said he smoked it.Now I can't even squat right now because of a hip problem and I told him "awesome! I wish I could do that" he replied "shoot you did 600" and I said yeah but that was a lifetime ago.He sent me this picture and under it said "still counts" made the old man feel good.
