    Default cholestrol help

Hi Dr, My labs came back as 129 for total chol.. GOOD..

however, my LDL is very low. (19) low base is 39 ...

I was on a cycle and went off last 4 weeks... I eat a really well balanced diet.

lots of mac nut oil, natural Peanut butter, and fish and fish oil tabs.

my triglycerides are in check... I know that the steroids made it go down, and now that I am off how can I increase the level of HDL while off and then after I go back on?

    cycle was :

    500mg test cyp / wk
    50 primo EOD
    HGH 1-2 iu/ d

I used to have great HDL even while on test.. my ration used to be 8:1....

I do know that my LH and FSH levels are very low.. could this be most of the problem ?

    thanks

How long are you off your cycle? Do you have a family history of cardiovascular disease?

i have been off only 3 weeks.. I did a shot last week ,because i thought my test levels dropped, but they are are the highest they have ever been...

My dad had a triple by pass at 88, now 91.. he never worked out, and never ate well .. a pot of coffee a day, burger king weekly.. his 9pm snack was butter milk, crackers, whole cheese and peperoni sticks..

surprised that he made it that far...
last stress test, my AT was 185... that was 2 years ago... my heart is strong (according to the docs..) they have always told me that

HDL cholesterol is included in your total cholesterol. Now that you are off your cycle, the total cholesterol is lower and so the HDL cholesterol also drops.
Although your father had a fatty diet, there may also be familial factors leading to higher cholesterol levels with lower HDL levels.
Your HDL may just need more time to get back into normal range than the person without a family history of cardiovascular disease.

I would recheck the cholesterol and HDL cholesterol in 3 momths. If you're not back to baseline, talk with your health care provider.
